In the USA, Magnussen already asked around in October at all IndyCar teams that still have a seat available. Haas team boss Günther Steiner also reports that he stood up for his driver: "I'm friends with Kevin on a personal level and have therefore tried something."

Although he does not know the latest developments, Steiner confirms that Magnussen had asked around in the USA. "I have very good relationships there, so I've spoken to a few people. But I don't know what the status quo is."
