In the Europa League, Ibrahimovic mostly only played a minor role in the current season. He did not play a single game over the full 90 minutes, and he also missed three group games with injuries.

Ibrahimovic played for Manchester from summer 2016 to March 2018 after his four-year interlude at Paris Saint-Germain. 'Ibra' scored 29 goals in 53 competitive games for the Red Devils. Then the Swedes moved to Los Angeles Galaxy in the USA.

Ibrahimovic had not made friends in California recently. With controversial statements about the political commitment of NBA star LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), he had triggered a wave of indignation. Former NBA professional Baron Davis even described Ibrahimovic as "stupid as bread".

So I thought: 'But this is Ibra!' he recalled."At that point the driver lowered the window and told me: 'Ibra asks if you can take him to Sanremo'.
