Sport Report: Knicks still looking at Victor Oladipo for potential trade
Is Biden pursuing a 'third way' trade policy?
Even at this early stage, one can see that there are more than a few similarities between the Trump and Biden trade agendas. The biggest difference will be in style - the tenor and tone in trade relations - and the absence of asinine pronouncements such as "trade wars are good and easy to win." The Biden preference for multilateralism, heavy consideration of labor and environment in trade relations, and a refrain from wielding tariffs as an ax bode well for U.S. trade relations over the next four years.
The Houston Rockets are.
The Knicks are still interested,.
Oladipo, however, remains in play for the Knicks as the Rockets are expected to trade him at the deadline as they slide into oblivion. Oladipo will be a free agent in 2021 and reportedly wants to sign with the Heat. That would make Oladipo a rental as the Knicks look to boost their bid to snap a seven-year playoff drought.
Knicks general manager Scott Perry, while with the Magic, drafted Oladipo second overall in 2013, and he has been a supporter of a potential trade. But Perry no longer is the top decision-maker.
Breaking down the game of Knicks rookie guard Immanuel Quickley
Immanuel Quickley has already surpassed many early expectations set for him when the New York Knicks selected him in the 2021 NBA draft. Quickley, 21, is averaging 12.2 points while shooting 37.1 percent from three-point range and…Quickley, 21, is averaging 12.2 points while shooting 37.1 percent from three-point range and 93.8 percent from the free-throw line. He had one of the best games of his professional career on Feb. 25, recording 18 points on six attempts and in just nine minutes of action during the first half against the Sacramento Kings.
That’s, who also realizes that Oldipo and the emerging play the same role in the offense. He also knows that Oladipo has not returned to his All-NBA form following his injury, he recently missed a handful of games with a foot injury (the latest in a string of injuries), and while he’s averaging 20 points a game, he’s shooting just 33.1% from three. The Knicks also would need to give up multiple players to match Oladipo’s $21 million salary ( , , and for Oladipo could work, but would the Rockets want those players?)
The bigger question is, can the Knicks’ re-sign Oladipo if they trade for him? For a long time, the buzz around the league is that Oladipo wants to head to Miami as a free agent; the Knicks might have to overpay to keep him. Also, New York would not want to give up much to rent Oladipo for a playoff push this season.
Pistons vs. Knicks: How to watch NBA online, TV channel, live stream info, game time
How to watch Pistons vs. Knicks basketball gameA victory for the New York Knicks would push them over .500, and after one quarter they have put themselves in a good position to make this happen. It's anybody's game, but New York is ahead of the Detroit Pistons 25-20.
The Knicks want to make the playoffs and would consider a trade that helps them in the short term. New York could well be active at the deadline.
Whether that would include Oladipo is another question.
