Conor Garland is week to week for the Arizona Coyotes because of a lower - body injury . The forward was injured during practice Tuesday and did not play in a 4-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Price in concussion protocol, out at least one week for Canadiens. Goalie expected to be sidelined

Garland ( lower body ) will not play in Saturday's game versus the Avalanche, Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan reports. It's unclear when Garland suffered the injury . The 24-year-old winger has been excellent in a top-six role this season with seven goals and 12 assists through 20 games, so the Coyotes will sorely miss his presence in the lineup. He's day-to-day for now. Dryden Hunt or Hudson Fasching will enter the lineup in his place, while Lawson Crouse could see a bump in usage.

It’s been a bad little while for the Arizona Coyotes. Despite still technically holding onto the final playoff position in the West Division, you can bet they won’t have it much longer. The Coyotes are now 20-22-5 on the season, have gone 3-7 in their last 10, and are only ahead of the St. Louis Blues in total points, not points percentage. The Blues aren’t playing very well, either, but do have four games in hand on the Coyotes and sit one point back. So do the Los Angeles Kings, who are just five points back, while the San Jose Sharks have one game in hand and are just four back even after a seven-game losing skid.

The race for the final spot in the West seems to be one of futility, and now the Coyotes are losing one of their most important forwards at the worst time. Conor Garland has been designated as “week-to-week” with his lower-body injury, not a great sign with just a few weeks left in the regular season. Arizona has just nine more chances to add points to the total, and two of those matches are against the Vegas Golden Knights, who became the first team in the NHL to clinch a playoff position last night.

Merrick Garland rescinded Friday restrictions on Justice Department's use of consent decrees to force police departments to reform. In a four-page memo, Garland rescinded a policy enacted by Atty. Coyotes forward Conor Garland is listed as week - to - week with a lower - body injury he sustained in Friday night's 3-2 loss to the Calgary Flames, the team announced. Coyotes ' Garland ( lower body ) week to week .

"He's going to play with Conor Garland next game. We're going to put him on the wing," Tocchet said. "We'll see if anybody wants to touch 'Gars.'" In reality, of course, Watt isn't coming to town to be a two-sport athlete. But also in reality, a little more protection for Garland , the Coyotes ' points leader with Garland , Tocchet said, skated on his own for 20 minutes Monday before team practice, in which he did not take part. The forward missed Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche with a lower body injury and is day to day, and Tocchet was to decide later in the day Monday if Garland would be

Perhaps the most frustrating part of the Garland news is that he wasn’t even injured in a game. The shifty forward suffered the lower-body injury (which is believed to be his knee) at practice, leaving the ice on Tuesday and missing Wednesday night’s game (a 4-1 defeat). Garland is one of the more unappreciated talents in the league and arguably Arizona’s most consistent forward, with 10 goals and 32 points in 45 games this season. That trails just Phil Kessel’s 35 and means that losing Garland is a huge blow to the Coyotes’ offense.

GOP pressures Garland on border .
However, during a two-hour House hearing, the former judge managed to completely escape questioning on some of his department’s most attention-grabbing work. Topics not raised in the hearing included the investigation into the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6 and a separate foreign-agent probe that led the FBI to carry out search warrants last week against former President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani. Republicans instead zeroed in on how the Justice Department is responding to increases in Central American immigrants, often families, seeking to cross the U.S. border with Mexico.
