What could have been: What if Tim Tebow converted to tight end 10 years ago? Tim Tebow is trying to return to the NFL as a tight end for the Jaguars, but the former quarterback may have missed his chance when he left college. If Tebow had embraced this experiment a decade ago.

Urban Meyer said they have not made a decision if Tim Tebow will resume his NFL career with the Jaguars . Yet, there is legitimacy that Tebow is considering an NFL comeback. And the Jaguars are seriously weighing their option of possibly giving him a shot to compete for a roster spot as a tight end. ''That decision is certainly not made yet,'' Meyer said after Saturday's draft. But both Meyer and general manager Trent Baalke is still considering the option of adding Tebow after he recently worked out for the franchise.

Urban Meyer just bought a house down the street from Tim Tebow . If Tim Tebow wants to make a return to the NFL this year, all he's going to have to do is walk down to Urban Meyer 's house and convince the Jaguars coach that he can still play. The reason Tebow will be able to walk to Meyer 's house is because the two are now neighbors in Jacksonville.

What are the chances of the Jacksonville Jaguars bringing in Tim Tebow as a tight end? Coach Urban Meyer didn’t do anything to downplay the chatter on Sunday.

Reports emerged this week that Tebow worked out for Jaguars officials as a tight end, and the Jaguars have left the door open to signing him. Meyer essentially confirmed that Sunday, although he stressed that no decision has been made — or thought about all that hard.

“We had a conversation,” Meyer said, via Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk. “He worked out with our tight ends coach, I stopped by, did not stay for the whole workout. Then our focus went to the NFL Draft. We’re going to revisit here in the near future. That’s how that all happened.”

Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer just purchased a Jacksonville home next door to pal Tim Tebow amid rumors the athlete could be making an NFL comeback with the Florida team. The move comes just two months after Tebow , 33, announced his retirement from baseball after a run as a Mets minor In the past week, Tebow reportedly reached out to the Jaguars requesting an opportunity to try out as a tight end, according to ESPN. The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner went through a workout with the team’s tight ends coach, reported the NFL Network, adding that the Jaguars have had “at least some

Tim Tebow retired from baseball in February. With his former college coach, Urban Meyer , now in Jacksonville, the Heisman Trophy winner apparently is looking at unretiring from football. The Jaguars recently worked out Tebow and have had discussions with him about signing, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. Tim Tebow , who recently announced his retirement from baseball (and the New York Mets) could be returning to the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars .

Meyer did add that he was dissatisfied with the Jaguars’ current crop of tight ends, although Jacksonville drafted Ohio State’s Luke Farrell in the fifth round. The coach said the position was “a concern” for the Jaguars, adding that if Tebow could help Jacksonville win, Meyer would be in favor of adding his former quarterback at Florida.

“I have one job, and that is to win games with the Jacksonville Jaguars. If Tim Tebow or Travis Etienne can help us win, then that’s my job to get them ready to go play,” Meyer added. “That decision is certainly not made yet.”

If the Jaguars did make the move, it’s possible that Tebow would have a unique role similar to that of another player. Regardless, now that Meyer has left the door open, expect to hear more about it at some point.

Ex-Jaguars WR Jimmy Smith thrilled for Tim Tebow, says Colin Kaepernick could 'divide' team It’s easy to see why people are confused by Urban Meyer’s move to consider bringing Tim Tebow to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former Heisman Trophy winner hasn’t played in the NFL since 2012 and has been busy trying to make it in Major League Baseball for years. Longtime former Jaguars wide receiver Jimmy Smith, however, is all about it. “We need a guy like Tim Tebow, whose a hometown hero who has love for the city anyway” he told TMZ Sports. © Provided by Yahoo! Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer has officially been announced as the new head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars . Meyer , of course, is a three-time National Championship-winning head coach, bringing one title to Ohio State and two to Florida. So, is there any chance Tebow could give up on his baseball career to join Meyer in Jacksonville? Not if you take the 33-year-old’s word for it. Tebow spoke with TMZ Sports on Thursday (before the hiring was made official), but the former Gators QB said he’s still focused on baseball.

Jaguars coach Urban Meyer , the man for whom Tebow played at Florida, addressed on Saturday the news that Tebow had a recent workout with the team. “ Tim and I’ve talked about, when he was a quarterback in the NFL that was a big topic,” Meyer told reporters regarding the possibility that Tebow would play “I have one job and that is to win games with the Jacksonville Jaguars .
