By Mike Bohn | May 10, 2021 8:30 pm. Dana White doesn’t seem too certain about Kayla Harrison making a transition to the UFC at the conclusion of this PFL season. Harrison (9-0), a two-time Olympic gold medalist and one-time PFL women’s lightweight champion, is considered by many to be among the top talents competing outside the UFC currently, regardless of gender. Kevin Lee says he ' s headed to welterweight ' for the foreseeable future ,' teases Mike Perry fight . UFC· May 10, 2021 9:00 pm · By: Mike Bohn. Kevin Lee is planning to test the waters at welterweight again for his UFC comeback.

Kevin Lee is moving up to welterweight to take on Rafael dos Anjos in the main event of UFC Rochester. Many believe Lee is moving up to welterweight because of his size. However, according to “The Motown Phenom” that is not the case. Rather, Lee decided to move up in weight given the state of the lightweight division and how the top contenders are not fighting . “A lot of [the lightweight division] kinda went stagnant, which is a real shame,” Lee said on The MMA Hour.

Lee (18-6 MMA, 11-6 UFC) revealed on social media Monday that his return to the octagon, whenever it may be, will come at 170 pounds rather than lightweight, where he’s earned his most notable UFC wins.

“The Motown Phenom” hasn’t seen action since a third-round submission loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 180 in March 2020, after which he underwent ACL surgeries on both of his knees. He told MMA Junkie in February that he was recovering well and nearing a comeback, but now he’s pulled a swerve.

Miami QB N’Kosi Perry Announces Transfer Destination

  Miami QB N’Kosi Perry Announces Transfer Destination Former Miami quarterback N’Kosi Perry is changing programs, but he’s not leaving the Sunshine State to continue his college career. Perry, who is slated to graduate in May, has committed to Florida Atlantic. The Willie Taggart-led Owls had been rumored to be the favorite to land Perry for at least a month. “ He ’ s smooth man, he ’ s clever,” Perry said . “How can you not like the guy? But you listen to his ass talk and watch him fight !? I would absolutely love [to exchange words with McGregor at a press event]. However, “Platinum” says he ’ s always open to new rivalries. “I don’t have any beef with anyone. Russian, Irish … but we can make some beef though. America!” As for the McGregor vs. Nurmagomedov fight , Perry didn’t hesitate to throw his support behind the man of whom he ’ s become a fan, and perhaps one day, opponent

Kevin Lee is headed to welterweight for his next bout, and the former lightweight contender says the state of the 155 division was the main reason why. For some time, Lee talked about the possibility of moving up to 170, on account of how much weight he cuts to make lightweight. Now, yes, some will argue that Lee ’s just saying this because he ’ s lost two of his last three fights . But, that overlooks the fact he ’ s still ranked #5 in the lightweight division, and that he ’ s not long removed from a one-sided win over Edson Barboza. So, in other words, one more big win at 155 and Lee could possibly be back in

According to Lee, welterweight will be his division of choice (via Twitter):

I’m moving to 170lbs for the foreseeable future. Oliveira can have the lightweights we’ll get that back later

Lee did not reveal any further information about his motives for the move, especially after his one fight in the division against Rafael dos Anjos in May 2019 ended in a third-round submission loss. The 28-year-old has had difficulty managing his weight in recent years, having missed the lightweight limit on two occasions, including prior to his bout with Oliveira.

He’ll seemingly give it another shot, and teased that he already has a fight offer on the table. Lee sent a tweet to Mike Perry (14-8 MMA, 7-8 UFC) insinuating a potential matchup between them is on the table for UFC 264 on July 10 in Las Vegas (via Twitter):

UFC welterweight Mike Perry and girlfriend Latory Gonzalez. Perry has lost three of his last four fights inside the octagon, with a sole victory against Alex Oliveira the only bright spark during that run. And for his next fight , he wants only his new girlfriend Latory Gonzalez as his support.

Kevin ensuring he was good and gassed out for that 3rd round finish If there was ever a fighter who’s underachieving due to fight IQ being off the charts bad it’s FKL I want to see him succeed and achieve redemption, he ’ s got the tools, size, and physicality, if he can learn his fight tempo and correct the mental errors, he ’ s easily in contendership @155. His move to Tristar is also a terrible choice imo. Not saying Tristar is bad, but for the development of his skillset and physical attributes, it's the wrong camp. Joe talked him into it on his podcast.

@PlatinumPerry we fighting July 10 or what @seanshelby @danawhite

NHL announces blank COVID protocol-related absences list .
The long-awaited day has finally arrived. When the NHL released it’s COVID Protocol Related Absences list on Monday evening, it contained no names. It is the first time since the list originally debuted at the start of the regular season that the contents has been empty. Granted, the list now only includes the 14 active playoff teams as opposed to all 31 clubs, but it still marks a major achievement in the league’s battle against the Coronavirus. © Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports Of course, the final step toward a league-wide clean bill of health actually came with the elimination of the St. Louis Blues on Sunday.
