'I get no respect': How Brian Jordan is the forgotten two-sport star

'I get no respect': How Brian Jordan is the forgotten two-sport star His MLB and NFL careers stand up to Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders; 30 years later, Jordan wonders if that era is gone for good. Now, he writes children’s books.

The Atlanta Falcons released a kicker on Tuesday morning in order to clear up a roster spot for the team’s incoming rookie class.

Elliott Fry, who signed with the Falcons on Oct. 1, 2020, was released on Tuesday, according to an official team announcement. The 26-year-old spent the last 12 weeks of the regular season on the practice squad as a back-up kicker and had recently signed a reserve/future contract in January.

Fry made his impact felt in Week 4 of the 2020 campaign in the Falcons’ game against the Packers. After being elevated to the active roster for the week, the former South Carolina product connected on his single field goal attempt and went 1-of-2 on extra points in Atlanta’s 30-16 loss in Green Bay.

11 NFL teams that could trade up or down in 2021 draft

11 NFL teams that could trade up or down in 2021 draft One of the most compelling aspects of the NFL draft is the wheeling and dealing, and several teams could look to move up or down. The annual "Player Selection Meeting" typically entails dozens of trades, some remnants from previous years but the bulk taking place over the course of the three-day, seven-round event. Some clubs are historically active, others have a reputation for eschewing such maneuvering. Yet, leading up to Day 1, nearly every general manager will profess a willingness to take all phone calls and explore the merits of moving up or down.

Before signing with the Falcons, Fry spent time on the practice squads of the Chicago Bears, the Baltimore Ravens, the Carolina Panthers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He went undrafted out of South Carolina in 2017 and first landed on a professional roster in 2019 with the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football.

Now that he has some NFL experience, Fry should get another shot outside of Atlanta.

The Falcons decision isn’t too surprising, considering the team has found its kicker of the future in Younghoe Koo. The 26-year-old, South Korean native, made his first Pro Bowl in 2020 in just his second full season in Atlanta.

In 15 games, Koo made 37 of his 39 field goals and connected on 33 of his 36 extra points. He’s also proven to be somewhat of an onside kick specialist, making him one of the most indispensable kickers in the league.

Four Trade Destinations For Falcons Star Julio Jones .
The Falcons want to trade Julio Jones. Here are four teams who would be interested. The Falcons would like to trade Julio Jones. That doesn’t mean it’s 100 percent that it’s going to happen. That doesn’t mean some members of the organization don’t believe the future Hall of Famer can still play, when healthy. But Jones’ availability on the trade market has been clear almost from the time new general manager Terry Fontenot and coach Arthur Smith landed in Atlanta and realized the extent of the team’s salary-cap problems.
