Sport Chris Gloster and Luis Barraza recalled to NYCFC
'Didn't realize it was going to be me': With deadline looming, some 9/11 survivors and families may miss out on fund
A deadline in July looms to register with the VCF, a process that ensures a 9/11 survivor's or first responder's right to file a claim for benefits."It was just so quick, this cancer that hit her. It's not family-related, just out of nowhere and just took her," Vizcarra said.
On June 1, it was announced thathad loaned out both left back Chris Gloster and goalkeeper Luis Barraza to USL Championship clubs and Oakland Roots, respectively. After only 13 days, both Gloster and Barraza have returned to NYCFC after of MLS’s resumption on June 19.
Great to have these guys back in the building— New York City FC (@NYCFC)
Gloster made two appearances for Sacramento during his loan spell while Barraza made two of his own with Oakland. Of each’s two appearances in USL’s first division, Gloster and Barraza also played against each other on June 2 in a game that saw Sacramento and Oakland play to a 3-3 draw.
The ‘hello-goodbye’ nature of Gloster and Barraza’s loan spells seem to mean that both are valuable pieces for NYCFC’s season and that they were only supposed to maintain match fitness during the international break.
While Barraza is still awaiting his first career MLS appearance, Gloster has had two cameos for the Bronx Blues in 2021, both from the bench.
