The Titans will also reportedly pick up Jones’ entire contract. While nobody reasonably expected the Falcons to secure a first-round pick for Jones, it was still a bit wild to see Jones get traded for a relatively weak offer. And we already saw some envy from around the NFL.

The Los Angeles Rams cornerback took to Twitter to recruit the Patriots cornerback, who won defensive player of the year in 2019. It’s likely Gilmore’s frustrations stem from his contract. He is entering the final year of the deal, with only $7.5 million in new money, which ranks just 24th among cornerbacks. That’s a humble sum for one of the NFL’s best. However, Gilmore’s deal will count as $16.3 million against the salary cap, first among cornerbacks, which might be why the Patriots are having a hard time offering more money.
