Jaylen Guy Twyman (born July 19, 1999) is an American football defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Pittsburgh and was drafted by the Vikings in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Vikings have wrapped up their 11-man 2021 NFL Draft class by selecting Pitt defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman in the sixth round (No. 199 overall, also known as the Tom Brady spot). He is reunited with college teammate Patrick Jones II, the edge rusher who Minnesota drafted in the third round on There are real reasons to be concerned that he doesn't have the overall athleticism to make it in the NFL, but I'm curious to see what Andre Patterson can do with Twyman going forward. Here's Dane Brugler's scouting report on the Pitt DT : A one-year starter at Pittsburgh, Twyman lined up primarily at

Twyman was selected by the Vikings in the sixth round of the draft last month. The 21-year-old racked up 29 total tackles and 11 sacks in two seasons with the Panthers — 10.5 of which came in his sophomore season. Twyman opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ron Rivera wants open competition for Washington starting QB job

Ron Rivera wants open competition for Washington starting QB job Rivera’s decision is easier now. Fitzpatrick, a trusted veteran, is unlikely to get complacent no matter how the competition goes. Plus, Heinicke is drawing rave reviews after minicamp and looked solid in Washington’s playoff loss last season. Might as well let him see if he can outplay Fitzpatrick during camp and earn the job.Subscribe to Yardbarker's Morning Bark, the most comprehensive newsletter in sports. Tomasson says that Twyman ’s deal is a four -year pact worth .65 million. He received a signing bonus of 4,940 and will have a salary cap figure for this season of 3,735. Twyman will have his contract signed in time to start this weekend’s rookie mini-camp at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance As I mentioned yesterday in talking about the other signings, I would expect the team to have most of their rookie class signed by the time that the weekend is over. Congratulations to Jaylen Twyman for officially becoming a member of the Minnesota Vikings and the National Football League!

Girl, 4 , two others shot in Times Square broad daylight mayhem. Three innocent bystanders — including a 4 -year-old girl who was toy shopping with her family — were shot Saturday in Times Square when a man arguing with three other people wildly fired into the late afternoon crowd, according to police and sources. The bullets flew at 4 :55 p.m. outside of 1515 Broadway, along West 44th Street, when the dispute turned the Crossroads of the World into a shooting gallery and shocked even hardened members of New York’s Finest.

"We have been in direct contact with Jaylen and his family, and we are extremely thankful Jaylen is expected to make a full recovery," the team said, in part.
