Going to waste? Hundreds of thousands of doses of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine will expire this month.

Going to waste? Hundreds of thousands of doses of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine will expire this month. Almost 52% of people in the United States have received at least one COVID-19 shot but vaccination rates are falling to new lows in many states."When we had more demand than the supply could meet, expiration dates weren't a problem. Vaccine was being used up as fast as it came in the door," said Dr. Kelly Moore, deputy director of the Immunization Action Coalition.

Tim Johnson and Valentin Moldavsky will face off at Bellator 261 for an interim heavyweight championship. This chance at a championship may be the only opportunity of Johnson's career. A middling fighter for years in the UFC, going 4-3 and never winning two fights in a row, Johnson has done the unthinkable in Bellator. Starting his Bellator run 0-2, Johnson won three in a row, defeating the division's best, including Cheick Kongo, who was arguably next in line for champion Ryan Bader.

Now Johnson will get a shot at the interim championship on Friday. Though, he'll have to get through Team Fedor member Moldavsky, who's 10-1 and proving to be a tough out. The Russain likes to stay close to his opponents and often drags down his opponents while smashing on them. He's not known for his finishes, however, has he's only subbed three and knocked out one. Johnson on the other hand is a heavy-handed fighter, with eight of his 15 wins coming by KO/TKO.

Weekend Round-up: New champs at RIZIN and Bellator

Weekend Round-up: New champs at RIZIN and Bellator Taroslav Amosov and Roberto Satoshi were two of the big non-UFC winners of this weekend in MMA.In addition to that title changing hands, Bellator and RIZIN also saw new champs crowned.

Tim Johnson has a tough out with Valentin Moldavsky

Johnson is in a unique position to become a champion at the age of 36, after a career of doing little else than closing out the prelims. He's a solid wrestler as Kongo found out in their rematch, and his hands have delivered him to this point, so he has the skills needed. Moldavsky may develop into more of a finisher as his career goes on but more than likely he'll ride Johnson out for five rounds.

While we're all pulling for Johnson, Team Fedor might be the best fight team in the world right now, seeing as Moldavsky's teammate Vadim Nemkov is the current Bellator light heavyweight champion. It's going to be a tough out for Johnson.
