Darvon Hubbard, a four - star running back out of Arizona, has committed to Ohio State . The No. 6 player in the state also had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Notre Dame and others. The top recruit previously lived in Ohio before moving to Arizona. Hubbard says he’s coming home.

The 4 - star defensive tackle from Pocatello, Idaho, welcomed Ohio State coach Urban Meyer and defensive line coach Larry Johnson to his home Tuesday night, and surprisingly committed to the program on the spot. Growing up in Dublin, Ohio , before his move to Austin, Wilson played for the same AAU program that produced Jared Sullinger and Aaron Craft, and even though his move to Texas came with a heightened focus on football, the star wide receiver earned Division I scholarship offers for hoops .

Basketball Bucks offer four-star combo guard

Much talk has centered around the Ohio State football team since the start of June, and rightfully so. Ryan Day has led Ohio State to an incredible start for the 2022 recruiting class as the Buckeyes sit atop of the 247Sports recruiting rankings. However, Chris Holtmann and the basketball Buckeyes are also hard at work on the recruiting trail.

The Buckeyes currently sit at No. 2 in the 2022 recruiting rankings with three verbal commitments, and are looking to close out the class by securing a commitment from the ever-elusive “big man.” Which, by the looks of it, may happen sooner than later.

With the class almost being finalized, the team has the privilege of getting a head start on the 2023 class. The staff has already sent out double-digit scholarships in next year’s class and the trend continued Monday when they offered one of the nation’s top talents.

Reed Sheppard took to Twitter on Monday to announce he has received an official scholarship offer from the Buckeyes. The four-star Kentucky native combo guard has received nearly a dozen offers from some of the nation’s most prestigious college basketball programs despite still having two years of high school ball to play.

Iowa also held Ohio State star E.J. Liddell without a basket for the last 13:35. Liddell led Ohio State with 15 points. Luka Garza, meawhile, led the Hawkeyes with 24 point and 11 rebounds, and was aided by a 19-point performance from Joe Wieskamp. The current slide puts a heavy emphasis on the upcoming Illinois game. Ohio State won the first meeting 87-81, but the Illini have won nine of 10 since and are clearly playing better basketball right now, even with star guard Ayo Dosunmu sidelined recently with a broken nose.

Hailing from Kentucky, the Wildcats are the early favorite to earn a commitment from Sheppard, and Holtmann and the Buckeyes will need to throw the kitchen sink at him if they wish to have him in Columbus. But, Holtmann has already proved to be one of the top recruiters in college basketball and Ohio State is within close proximity of him too. Albeit, not as close as the Wildcats.

Sheppard is the No. 53 recruit in the 2023 recruiting class and is the No. 12 CG in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is also the No. 3 prospect from the state of Kentucky.

Hoops is an American adult animated sitcom created by Ben Hoffman for Netflix that was released on August 21, 2020. In December 2020, the series was canceled after one season.

Ohio State learned 2023 athlete Moussa Kane will be one of those visiting Columbus at the end of the month on Monday as he announced his upcoming unofficial visits.

The New Jersey native will also be visiting with Notre Dame and Boston College to close out July. He also holds offers from the likes of Clemson, Penn State, Purdue and Rutgers, although he has not announced visits to them yet. Ohio State has yet to offer Kane, but one could soon follow once the visit wraps up.

Kane has not yet received a star-ranking from 247Sports, but this could change in their next update as he has been receiving an uptick in interest from some of the best college football programs.

Governors pin hopes on full vaccine approval as cases climb .
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — As U.S. regulators weigh giving the final stamp of approval for certain COVID-19 vaccines, governors in states hard hit by the pandemic hope the move will help persuade the many holdouts in their states to finally get the shot. The governors of Arkansas and Ohio — where cases and hospitalizations are climbing — have appealed publicly in recent days for full approval, saying it would help combat vaccine hesitancy and could also clear the way for more businesses to require their employees to be inoculated. It's a topic that Republican Gov.
