Hawks Star Trae Young Takes Issue With Team USA Snub

Hawks Star Trae Young Takes Issue With Team USA Snub Young took to Twitter to apparently lament being left out of consideration to replace Bradley Beal on Team USA. View the original article to see embedded media.Less than two weeks before the start of the Tokyo Games, Team USA is in the process of finding a replacement for Wizards guard Bradley Beal, who will not travel to Tokyo after being placed in health and safety protocols on Wednesday. Though it's unclear who will be tabbed as Beal's fill-in, one star player apparently is out of the running.

Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal has reportedly 'welcomed' each of the following teams in a trade scenario.

After multiple seasons of saying he wants to stay where he's at, Wizards guard Bradley Beal may be looking for a way out.

Jake Fisher of Bleacher Report " is reporting that Beal knows it's critical to decide what he wants to do before the 2021 NBA Draft on July 29.

"He knows he has to make a decision before the draft," one source with direct knowledge of Beal's thinking told Bleacher Report. For the past year, people familiar with Beal's dedicated relationship to the Wizards have consistently rebuffed the notion he had interest in playing elsewhere. Yet a second source close to Beal, when contacted by B/R, confirmed the situation is now fluid.

3 moves the Warriors can make with their 2 lottery picks

3 moves the Warriors can make with their 2 lottery picks The Golden State Warriors own two NBA Draft lottery picks this year, and they could do one of three things with them. The 2021 NBA Draft takes place later this month, and while all eyes will be on the Detroit Pistons with the first overall pick, the team that carries the most intrigue is the Gold en State Warriors. They not only have the 14th overall selection after missing out on the playoffs, but they also secured the seventh overall pick thanks to their Andrew Wiggins-D'Angelo Russell trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Golden State has many options they can utilize ahead of or on draft night.

In his eighth year as a pro, Beal turned in arguably his best season by averaging career-highs with 31.3 points and a 48.5 field goal percentage. The three-time All-Star has one-year, $34.5 million remaining on his deal which also includes a $37.3 player option for the 2022-23 season.

With the Wizards potentially looking to rebuild, Beal's availability will have plenty of contending teams drawing interest.

The Heat may not have enough for Bradley Beal

Of the following three teams Beal is 'welcoming' in a trade, one that doesn't have a first or second-round pick in the upcoming draft is the Heat. Miami has a first-round selection for next year, but does not have a first rounder in 2023.

This leads to the Heat deciding whether or not to part ways with their 2022 first round pick, which Washington would likely ask for, in addition to one of their young players.

Team USA coach Gregg Popovich on Bradley Beal: ‘I’m dying for him’

Team USA coach Gregg Popovich on Bradley Beal: ‘I’m dying for him’ Bradley Beal won't play for Team USA in the Tokyo Olympics after getting put into the health-and-safety protocols. Team USA coach Gregg Popovich: I’m dying for him. We all are. Since he’s a little kid, this has been a dream of his. He was playing great. He was having fun, being a big part of us coming together chemistry-wise and as a family. So, for him and his family, immediate family, it’s devastating. So, we just feel horrible about it. After reaching the Finals during bubble play last summer, there's been some regression from Miami's key pieces who were critical to another deep playoff run.

Guard Tyler Herro missed 18 games with injuries and averaged just 9.3 points in four playoff games this season after averaging double digits in 21 postseason games last summer. He was eventually replaced in the starting lineup by Kendrick Nunn who also didn't improve much in his second season. Three-point specialist Duncan Robinson also saw a dip in his three-point shooting percentage which dropped from 44.6 percent during his 2019-2020 campaign to 40.8 percent this season.

One or more of a combination of these players along with Miami's 2022 first-round pick could be enough to swing a deal for Beal, but other teams could offer more.

The Warriors may have the best offer for Bradley Beal

Among the teams with the best assets heading into next week's draft is the Warriors.

Warriors’ stars reportedly want team to trade picks for help now, ideally Beal

Golden State currently owns the No.7 and No.14 overall picks which would likely be in play for a Beal trade. In addition to parting ways with their first-round selections, moving Andrew Wiggins in this deal would also make sense.

It's also possible Washington would ask for younger talent on the Warriors which consists of James Wiseman, Jordan Poole, and Eric Paschall.

Any combination of Wiggins plus young talent and multiple picks would be a high price to pay, but it could be the type of deal which the Warriors' core is hoping. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have all been vocal about wanting the front office to go all-in this offseason and this would be a perfect opportunity.

The Wizards should not take Ben Simmons for Bradley Beal, but a trade could still happen

Philadelphia and All-Star Ben Simmons have been in the center of trade talks thus far and will continue to be through draft night.

A rebuilding team like the Wizards may not like the idea of bringing Simmons in, but if they throw in the No.28 overall pick and a young player like Tyrese Maxey could be intriguing enough to make a deal happen. The 76ers also own first-round picks from 2022-2024.

There is another possibility a third team gets involved in a trade for Simmons as well, while Beal is moved to Philadelphia. It would make more sense for the Wizards if another interested team is involved. This would allow Washington to acquire picks and young talent without having to take on Simmons and the remainder of his four years, ~$140.3 million on his current deal.
