Notre Dame 99-to-0: No. 55 Kahanu Kia, freshman linebacker, Hawaiian, LDS member

Notre Dame 99-to-0: No. 55 Kahanu Kia, freshman linebacker, Hawaiian, LDS member Notre Dame has developed a rich tradition of Hawaiian defenders, and Kahanu Kia may someday join it, but that day could be a long ways in the future yet.No. 55? NOW? Projecting the incoming freshmen’s uniform numbers is always nothing but pure conjecture, but there is also always some logic in those attempts. Kia wore No. 8 in high school; Notre Dame does not have a No. 8 on its roster. There was seemingly the possibility of a fit.

With training camp on the horizon, the Vikings have added a veteran receiver to their roster. Minnesota has signed former Jaguars wideout Dede Westbrook, according to multiple reports. Westbrook told Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press that he is "super excited" to join the Vikings, where he will be reunited with receiving coach Keenan McCardell. McCardell was the Jaguars' receivers coach throughout Westbrook's time in Jacksonville.

The 49ers and Bengals reportedly had made contact with Westbrook's representatives prior to him coming to Minnesota.

The 6-foot, 178-pound Westbrook caught 160 of 254 targets for 1,720 yards and nine touchdowns in 40 regular-season games with Jacksonville. During the 2018 and '19 seasons, he caught a combined 132 passes for 1,377 yards and eight touchdowns. As a rookie, Westbrook caught seven passes during the Jaguars' run to the AFC Championship Game. Jaguars training camp Day 7 observations: Winner, loser Wednesday .
The Jaguars ramped up the intensity for their second padded practice of training camp.“A big roster is going to go to a smaller roster and I just think to be fair to players, you know we all have so much respect for them,” Meyer explained shortly after practice on Wednesday. “This is the way guys make a living and I don’t believe in subjectivity. I believe in what’s your record? Every man has a record, what is it? You are what your record is.
