View the original article to see embedded media.Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard underwent surgery to repair a partial tear in his right anterior cruciate ligament, the team announced on Tuesday. However, there is no timetable for Leonard's return. Leonard sprained his right knee in Game 4 win of the Western Conference semifinals against Utah when he collided with Jazz forward Joe Ingles.Leonard played in 52 of 72 games in the regular season, averaging 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists.

Leonard has a player option for the 2021-22 season that he could turn down in favor of unrestricted free agency.

While the idea of Kawhi Leonard 's free agency sounds exciting, executives around the league believe it won't be. According to a report from The Athletic's Sam Amick and John Hollinger, Leonard is expected to re-sign with the Clippers . Yes, if the Clippers get eliminated early, Leonard will definitely hear out other teams—it would be dumb not to. However, no one knows how seriously he would take offers or the validity of it. There's no real substance other than teams thinking and hoping they might have a chance, which gets turned into rumor.

It’s what we have been reporting at NBC Sports throughout this process: Other teams will make calls, but nearly every source around the league I have spoken with expects Kawhi Leonard to remain a Los Angeles Clipper.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said he has not heard anything about Leonard wanting to leave Los Angeles, a topic that came up on The Woj & Lowe Free Agency Special the network aired Sunday (hat tip Bleacher Report).

“I’ve got no indication that Kawhi Leonard is interested in doing anything besides re-signing with the Clippers and rehabbing that injury…

“The way they are proceeding, certainly seems to be with Kawhi Leonard in mind,” Wojnarowski said of the Clippers.

Colts hope to sign Darius Leonard, Braden Smith to long-term deals before season All offseason, the Colts have expressed a desire to sign linebacker Darius Leonard and right tackle Braden Smith to long-term deals. They now have 51 days to get that done before the season opener. “We don’t have anything to report right now, but we’d like to see both of those players get extensions before the [more]“We don’t have anything to report right now, but we’d like to see both of those players get extensions before the season starts,” owner Jim Irsay said Thursday, via Joel Erickson of the Indianapolis Star.

The Los Angeles Clippers are in the Western Conference finals for the first time in franchise history. Unfortunately, they've been forced to play every game of the series without Kawhi Leonard , who suffered a knee injury in Game 4 of the conference semifinals against the Utah Jazz and has been sidelined ever since. The Clippers fear Leonard is dealing with an ACL injury , according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. That would be far more detrimental to the Clippers both this season and next if that's the case.

Kawhi Leonard will sign with the LA Clippers , per multiple reports . The news, which was first reported by Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, will have a tremendous effect on the league. Leonard , a 28-year-old forward, is coming off a championship campaign in his only season with the Toronto Further reports indicated that Southern California natives George and Leonard met earlier in the week, which resulted in George asking Oklahoma City for a trade. With the Clippers reportedly worried about Leonard either staying in Toronto (or worse for them) joining the Los Angeles Lakers, a raft of assets

Leonard will likely miss most, if not all, of next season after suffering a partially torn ACL during the playoffs. However, that will not change the max offer the Clippers and other teams would put in front of him if — and more likely when — he opts out of his contract and becomes a free agent. The Clippers can offer larger raises and more years than any other team.

No doubt the Heat, Knicks, Mavericks, and probably a couple of other teams will make a call to check on Leonard. And a team leaking that it made those calls ensures the fan base sees just how hard the GM is trying.

However, after how hard he worked to get back to Southern California, after how much this franchise has let him “be himself” and dictate rest/rehab times and more, considering how badly owner Steve Ballmer wants to win and is willing to pay for it, and after the run to the Western Conference Finals this team made, it’s hard to see Leonard bolting town.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Kawhi Leonard has been recruiting Paul George to find a way to get to the Clippers and LA pulled it off tonight: George goes to the Clippers with Leonard , and together they walk into Staples Center to go head-to-head with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Los Angeles Clippers are expected to make the most aggressive push for Leonard , and they’ve made little secret of it. The Clippers have had representatives at many Raptors games this season, home and away, ranging from scouts, to assistant general manager Mark Hughes – who attended Friday’s game

Kawhi Leonard 's reported three-year deal -- the final year as a player option-- with the Clippers is a shorter pact than many expected . As a result, the 2021 free agency class may look more appealing. Los Angeles had to make moves to make the Leonard deal happen, giving up a lot to ensure they NBA players in this era like to strike while the iron is hot. While the NBA of yesteryear saw players committing to long-term contracts, stars now want to sample teams and test out the waters before signing the papers to stay long term. Not that this will stop the rumors, just know action isn’t likely to follow.
