Olympics schedule 2021: Day-by-day TV coverage to watch Tokyo Games on NBC channels, stream online Here's what's happening at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics today as well as a TV schedule to watch every event in the United States and Canada.During the 2016 Rio Olympics, the United States broadcast 6,755 hours of Olympic action. Canada itself produced over 2,000 hours. Each country could set new Summer Games-highs in 2021.

Colombia's Melissa Gonzalez qualified for the Olympic semifinal in the 400-meter hurdles on Saturday, and no one was more excited than Detroit Lions quarterback David Blough. Who happens to be her husband.

The Lions hosted a Friday night watch party to help Blough cheer Gonzalez on, and thankfully had the camera rolling when Gonzalez finished second in the first heat with a time of 55.32 seconds, a new Colombian national record.

Blough, simply put, went berserk:

You can really see Blough's nervous energy as the runners enter the home stretch, which isn't anything new judging from how he described watching his wife compete in an interview with The Athletic's Chris Burke.

And though spectators won't be allowed at any of the venues to take in the sights in-person, fans of the Olympics will no doubt be tuning in to watch this year's Games unfold.

David, how are you when she’s running?

Blough: Way worse. Way worse than running out through the tunnel on Thanksgiving or in any game I’ve ever played in. I’ve seen the work that she’s put into it, and I want so bad for her to be successful. I want so bad for her dreams to come. What she’s achieved now is kind of what she’s been running for every single time she’s taken the track. We wanted it so bad. And I just wanted it for her.

It’s only 55 seconds but, man, it is gut-wrenching the whole time.

Gonzalez is a four-time South American Championships gold medalist, winning gold in both the 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay in 2019 and 2021. Here's the video feed of her race (Gonzalez is in lane 3):

Per The Athletic, Blough and Gonzalez have been together since high school in Texas, before Blough became an All-Big Ten quarterback at Purdue and Gonzalez starred in track at Texas. Gonzalez was born and raised in the U.S., but competes for Colombia after claiming dual citizenship.

Blough, who also celebrated his birthday on Friday, has been with the Lions since 2019 and currently backs up newly arrived starter Jared Goff. He started five games back in 2019 following injuries to Matthew Stafford and Jeff Driskel.

Gonzalez is now set to take part in the third semifinal of her event on Sunday. Americans Sydney McLaughlin and Dalilah Muhammad remain the favorites to take gold, especially McLaughlin after she smashed Muhammad's world record in the event earlier this year.
