NFL practice squad signings: Complete rosters for all 32 NFL teams in 2021

NFL practice squad signings: Complete rosters for all 32 NFL teams in 2021 Sporting News is tracking the latest practice squad signings that NFL teams are making after roster cuts. That's part of why the league is once again allowing teams to sign 16 players to practice squad rosters. Originally, the NFL and NFLPA's Collective Bargaining Agreeement outlined a 12-man practice squad in 2021 with an increase to a 14-man unit in 2022. However, because of the pandemic, both parties agreed to expanded units last year; that policy will stay in effect for 2021.

DT Damion Square . Square , 32, originally signed on with the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama. He was unable to make the final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but he was later claimed by the Chiefs. After a few months in Kansas City, Square was Hunt returned to the Colts on a two-year, million contract, but was unfortunately released last year. From there, Hunt signed a one-year deal with the Saints and was on and off of their practice squad before finishing out the year with the Bengals. The Cardinals signed Hunt last month only to cut him

It looks like Damion Square will be set for a ninth NFL season. The veteran defensive lineman caught on with the Bears earlier this week, via a practice squad deal, but will be on Chicago’s active roster Sunday night. The Bears are promoting Square from their taxi squad , Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune tweets. A week later, the Bears brought the former Charger in for a workout and added him to their 16-man practice squad . While Square is not a lock to dress against the Rams, Goldman’s injury and the Bears ’ thin defensive line depth chart would seemingly ensure the ninth-year vet plays.

The Raiders lost defensive tackle Gerald McCoy for the season after only nine plays Monday. They found a replacement Tuesday.

The team is signing defensive tackle Damion Square off the Bears’ practice squad, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.

The Bears activated Square for Sunday night’s game, and he played five defensive snaps.

Square, 32, is on his fourth team since May, spending time with the Browns and Saints as well as the Bears. He was with the Chargers the previous six seasons.

He played 81 games for the Chargers, including every game the past four seasons, and recorded 116 tackles, 6.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries.
