Next Up to Challenge for Roman Reigns’s Title: The Rejuvenated Finn Bálor

Next Up to Challenge for Roman Reigns’s Title: The Rejuvenated Finn Bálor Finn Bálor has high praise for the man who he defeated in the inaugural universal championship tournament. Twenty-one years of blood, toil and sacrifice have brought Finn Bálor to a rarefied standing in pro wrestling. The wrestling prodigy (whose name is Fergal Devitt to those who know him best) is performing at a level where few others in the industry currently reside. And he is now entrenched in the most highly sought-after position in WWE, working across from Roman Reigns.

Pete Dunne says he’s the baddest man in NXT and tonight he proves it no matter who they put in front of him 2.0.

Kyle O’Reilly says this is the opportunity they all strive for and he’s just one win away from achieving a goal 16 years in the making 2.0.

LA Knight claims Samoa Joe is scared and it’s his game, but he turns around and runs into Bron Breakker (who is Rick Steiner’s son), who wants a chance to prove himself 2.0.

Cameron Grimes and Odyssey Jones are backstage with Johnny Gargano chatting when someone knocks on the door. It’s Austin Theory, who says he ran away but he wasn’t going to miss Indi Hartwell’s wedding and he brought someone, because you can’t have a wedding without a priest— it’s Damian Priest!

Carmelo Hayes makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial we get a Connor’s Cure hype reel.

Carmelo Hayes is interviewed in the ring.

He wants to get straight to it— three weeks ago he won the NXT Breakout Tournament, he’s got all this momentum, but now he’s got a target on his back. Moving forward to NXT 2.0, you’re not gonna catch him off guard ever again, and when he looks around he realizes that at the end of the day this is just a numbers game, so he called up his boy Trick.

U.S. Leaves Afghanistan Aid Workers to Defend 20 Years of Progress Against Taliban

U.S. Leaves Afghanistan Aid Workers to Defend 20 Years of Progress Against Taliban Aid agencies say the Taliban is dealing with an Afghanistan that has made dramatic progress and may not revert easily back to how things were in the 1990s.Those Kabulites not desperately trying to find a way out are either sheltering at home or trying to go about their daily lives, navigating heavily armed Taliban checkpoints and reported house-to-house searches for suspected collaborators.

Trick Williams (who is in the ring) says he’s about it, and Carmelo says wherever he goes, Trick goes, when he eats, Trick eats, and when he gets put on, Trick gets put on. Trick says he’s here for two reasons, he was born with the gift of the gab and the gift of the jab, and he’s proud of Hayes for being the golden child of NXT, but he’s got a bone to pick with him.

He always walks his walk and talks his talk, and when he shoots he don’t miss, so who is this new humble Melo? Hayes says he’s right, he’s the golden child and the chosen one, and if he chooses to pass it, Trick will receive it. Trick says that’s all it is and that’s all it’s gonna be.

Duke Hudson enters on their way out and cold shoulders them, which leads Williams to get in the ring and lay him out with a kick! Hayes joins the beatdown and Trick holds him up for the springboard forearm!

Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin are in a warehouse talking to Mandy Rose (who is off-camera) about how this is the real her and such. The camera pans back and Mandy’s wearing a hood and we can’t see any details.

How viral memes did the Taliban's work of helping them rebrand

How viral memes did the Taliban's work of helping them rebrand Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan on Aug. 15, memes have spread on social media that may contribute to the "Taliban 2.0" rebranding. Many of the videos have gained millions of views and thousands of shares-a testament to the oddity of seeing members of a proscribed terrorist group that have taken control of a country of 38 million people in a matter of weeks acting like buffoons.

Dolin gets away, Jacy tags in, Mandy Rose runs in and...

Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter win by disqualification, presumably? Either that or a no-contest.

Mandy takes her hood off and reveals that she’s gone brunette! The beatdown continues, Sarray makes the save and runs the heels off!

The two teams bicker and we go to break.

Choking her in the ropes, ramming her into the corner, tag to Dolin and she takes over right where Mandy left off. Pressing the attack, heat segment rolls on.

Kacy fires up but Rose catches her crossbody and turns it into a fallaway slam! Eventually she gets the tag, Carter in hot and she knocks Mandy back with a dropkick! Charging forearm, dropkick, wheelbarrow into a victory roll and Jayne cuts her off! The match breaks down, Rose takes advantage...

Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne, & Mandy Rose win by pinfall with a knee strike from Rose on Kayden Carter.

We go backstage with Indi Hartwell and the bridal party.

Candice LeRae yells at a bridesmaid for wearing a beanie. (Let her wear the beanie, it’s cute)

Ridge Holland makes his entrance to send us to break.

He announces that Kyle O’Reilly is out of tonight’s NXT Championship match because he’s not cleared, but it’s still going to be a four-way, with Von Wagner taking his place.

Drake Maverick vs. Ridge Holland

Holland just destroying Maverick, punching him in the chops so bad that he clutches his mouth...

Ridge Holland wins by pinfall with Northern Grit.

Tommaso Ciampa is interviewed backstage about the changes to the title match.

He says NXT 2.0 is chaos, young hungry athletes shooting their shot, and he gets that DIY mentality, but when it comes to the NXT title, you think about Tommaso Ciampa. It’s been 908 days and tonight he gets his redemption.

This is a squash— the Creeds dominate early, blue trunks fires up and rallies and Julius loves it but just powers up more himself and throws the poor dude around. Cartwheel spinebuster...

Creed Brothers win by pinfall with a falling lariat from Julius Creed on That Dude.

Post-match, Malcolm Bivens cuts a promo about how dominant the Diamond Mine are.

He introduces the newest member, Ivy Nile. He asks her to flex and she shows off her considerable muscles before he claims she hasn’t had a carb since 2005 and she was the star of NBC’s Titan Games.

Enter KUSHIDA.

He says they all talk too much and calls Roderick Strong out, saying he’s ready. Bivens says the match will happen next week!

We see Dexter Lumis brushing his moustache.

Beth Phoenix says Edge is home recuperating when Vic Joseph requests an update.

Pete Dunne makes his entrance to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Johnny Gargano is doing some last-minute wedding prep.

LA Knight vs. Pete Dunne vs. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Von Wagner (NXT Championship)

Chaos to start, Knight slams Ciampa and moves on to uppercut Wagner! Whip reversed, Von with an uppercut, swinging back suplex! Dunne returns to the ring and goes after the new guy’s arm, stomping the bicep! Pete and Tom go wild on each other, throwing haymakers, Dunne off the ropes with a wicked lariat!
