The Jets also signed former Stony Brook running back Miguel Maysonet to the practice squad. Cribbs could help offset the losses of both Gates and Goodson. He has 107 career receptions for 1,161 yards and seven touchdowns, and has experience running the wildcat formation - one of Goodson's roles with the Jets - with 753 yards rushing and two scores. The versatile Cribbs is also 4 of 12 passing in his career. The signing of Cribbs is a low-risk, high-reward move - especially if he can regain the form that made him one of the league's most dangerous players who could score from any spot on the field.

While there was no official reason given for their departure, a former FDA bigwig told biotech outlet Endpoints that the pair complained that the CDC, and specifically its Advisory Committee on Immunization (ACIP), had seized the right to make decisions that had previously been left up to the FDA. The researchers were also supposedly upset with Marks for not standing up for them against the CDC.

During the New York Jets’ season opener, punter Braden Mann suffered a knee sprain that’ll force him to miss roughly four-to-six weeks. As a result, the Jets had to search the open market for a short-term replacement.

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Jets have signed former New York Saints punter Thomas Morstead.

Morstead was released by New Orleans in March. It was an emotional split for both side since he was an important member of the Saints for over a decade.

Although he struggled at times during the 2020 season, Morstead mentioned in the offseason that he dealt with an undisclosed back injury. Even with that injury, Morstead felt as if he finished the year on a positive note.

The New York Jets are showing interest in this Pro Bowl quarterback to backup starter Sam Darnold. Here's more on this story. New York did draft small-school product James Morgan in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft last week. Morgan could end up being a viable No. 2 behind Darnold at some point in the distant future. It’s not happening now. It’s in this that the Jets are reportedly showing some level of interest in former Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowl quarterback Andy Dalton after he was released earlier in the week.

Barr had a change of heart overnight and has decided to re- sign with the Vikings, CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora confirms. NFL.com initially reported the news. Can confirm @MikeGarafolo report that Anthony Barr backed out of verbal agreement with the Jets and now intends to re- sign with The one big advantage the Vikings likely had in their negotiations is the fact that Barr is familiar with their defense. After the Vikings hired a defensive-minded coach in Mike Zimmer back in 2014, he went out and made Barr the first pick of his head coaching career when he selected the former UCLA

“I was proud of how I battled through,” Morstead said, via NOLA.com. “I wasn’t happy, especially, with the first six or seven games. It was a lot of inconsistency and just in general shorter punts than we’d like.”

Morstead finished his Saints career as the franchise’s all-time leader in punts, punting yards and yards per punt. His best days might be behind him, but he’s confident that he can bounce back from an uncharacteristic 2020 season.

“I didn’t have a great year last year, and all I can promise is that I’ll do everything I can to be back where I’m capable.”

The Jets will face the Saints later this year, so there’s a strong chance that Morstead will get to play against his former team.

Report: Cowboys WR Michael Gallup out three to five weeks with calf strain .
Assuming Gallup lands on IR, he will first be eligible to return for the Week 5 home game against the New York Giants on Oct. 10. Gallup finished Thursday's outing with four receptions for 36 yards before the injury, but it was quarterback Dak Prescott who stole the show coming off the compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle he suffered last October. Prescott completed 42-of-58 passes for 403 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in the losing effort, and he wasn't at all slowed by the shoulder problem that first bothered him in late July.
