Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney offers thoughts on COVID-19 vaccine
Dabo Swinney was irate when circumstances related to COVID-19 forced the cancellation of one of Clemson’s key games last year, but the coach seems optimistic that things will run more smoothly this season. © Ken Ruinard / staff via Imagn Content Services, LLC Clemson Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney Swinney shared some of his thoughts on the COVID-19 vaccine while speaking with the media on Tuesday. He said there are “very few” people with the Clemson program who have not been vaccinated, which “gives you a whole lot more comfort level.
for the upcoming season. Games against San Diego State, Oregon, Utah, Creighton, and the Diamond Head Classic highlight the non-conference slate.
2021 NONCONFERENCE SCHEDULE— BYU Men's Basketball (@BYUMBB)
BYU opens the season with an exhibition game versus Colorado Christian before hosting Cleveland State in the season opener Tuesday, November 9. BYU’s second game will be a good test versus old MWC foe San Diego State in the Marriott Center.
The toughest game on on the non-conference schedule will likely be Oregon at the Moda Center in Portland on November 16. The Ducks are a potential top 10 team and will provide an early season test for BYU right out of the gate.
Big 12 to consider BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston for expansion?
The Big 12 could extend formal invitations during the upcoming football season to any of four potential candidates. While BYU, UCF, Cincinnati and Houston are all mentioned, BYU is named as the favorite because it's an FBS independent that has other programs competing in the West Coast Conference. The other three schools would have to notify the American Athletic Conference of their plans to depart for the Big 12 at least 27 months ahead of time and also pay exit fees of $10 million each. Eight of 10 current Big 12 members, including Texas and Oklahoma, must approve of any school joining the conference.
Other quad one opportunities could be at Utah, at Missouri State, and versus Creighton in South Dakota. Potential games versus Vanderbilt and Stanford in the Diamond Head Classic would also be nice tests. Missouri State is a sneaky good game. They are likely the best team in the Missouri Valley Conference and should be a top 75 team in the Net, which would make it a quad one game.
Quad one games are considered home games versus top 30 teams, neutral games versus top 50 teams, and road games versus top 75 teams.
My guess for quad one games are Oregon, Utah, Missouri State, Creighton, and possibly SDSU. Quad two games could be Utah State, UVU, Weber State, and at least two games in the Diamond Head Classic.
BYU hits the road for in-state games versus UVU and Weber State and they will host Utah State and Westminster.
