NASA astronaut helps family fulfill a 9/11 victim's dream

NASA astronaut helps family fulfill a 9/11 victim's dream When NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy learned about the Keller family, who lost their son Chad at the Pentagon on 9/11, he knew he could fulfill Chad's ultimate dream: going to space. But "his eyes were kind of bad," according to his father, so Chad pursued a degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder "to follow that dream." After earning his degree, Chad began working with Boeing as a propulsion specialist launching communication satellites for the US Department of Defense and National Reconnaissance Office.

However, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed Thursday that the veteran netminder told him he'd like to return to Boston this season, according to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Ty Anderson.

Rask said during an appearance on WEEI's "The Greg Hill Show" last month that he expects to return to the ice in December or January. Although he hasn't had contract discussions with the Bruins, he added that "the money won't be an issue" because he wants to remain in Boston.

Evander Kane, Tomas Hertl expected to be back with Sharks in 2021-22

Evander Kane, Tomas Hertl expected to be back with Sharks in 2021-22 It seems both Evander Kane and Tomas Hertl be back in San Jose in 2021-22, but can the two coexist?Kane tells ESPN’s Linda Cohn that he expects the NHL’s current investigation into allegations that he bet on NHL games, and Sharks games in particular, to go nowhere.

The 34-year-old reiterated earlier this summer that he has no plans to play anywhere else after saying earlier in the year that he intends to finish his NHL career with the Bruins.

Rask played through the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs with the hip injury and led the Bruins into the second round, where they were defeated by the New York Islanders in six games. He finished the 2020-21 regular season with a 15-5-2 record, two shutouts, a 2.28 goals-against average and .913 save percentage.

With Rask sidelined entering the 2021-22 season, the Bruins signed former Buffalo Sabres goaltender Linus Ullmark to a four-year, $20 million deal. He's expected to share time in the crease with Jeremy Swayman, who has appeared in just 10 NHL games.

Red Wings' Jakub Vrana leaves practice early with shoulder injury .
Less than 10 minutes into his first session back with the team, Vrana suffered a shoulder injury and had to leave. Head coach Jeff Blashill did not have a prognosis after practice, stating only that Vrana would be “re-evaluated later.” As Allen notes, Detroit was missing Tyler Bertuzzi for nearly all of last season and don’t need another core scorer with a nagging injury again this year. Hopefully Vrana’s shoulder ailment is nothing serious.
