Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Rhett Rodriguez completed 10-of-16 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown in this past Saturday's 29-16 win over Troy but suffered a serious chest injury that his father, Warhawks offensive coordinator Rich Rodriguez, later confirmed had the signal-caller in an intensive care unit:

According to Heather Dinich of ESPN, Rich Rodriguez said Tuesday that Rhett is home and recovering from a collapsed lung and chest trauma. Rich added that Rhett was on a ventilator until some point on Monday and that the initial injury could've occurred on the first play of Saturday's matchup.

Rich works under head coach Terry Bowden and served as interim coach when Bowden stepped away last month before his father, former Florida State Seminoles head coach and Hall of Famer Bobby Bowden, died following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Rhett, meanwhile, transferred from Arizona last offseason and still has two years of eligibility left.

His status for the rest of the current campaign is unknown.
