Fantasy Football Start 'Em Sit 'Em: Week 2 lineup advice, best matchups, DFS picks

Fantasy Football Start 'Em Sit 'Em: Week 2 lineup advice, best matchups, DFS picks It's only Week 2, but in another unpredictable season, you can bet fantasy football owners have plenty of start 'em, sit 'em questions. Vinnie Iyer has lineup advice and NFL DFS picks to help you keep winning or rebound after losing your season-opening matchup. The good news (or bad, depending how you look at it) is ever team is in action, and aside from Raheem Mostert (knee), Jerry Jeudy (ankle), Michael Gallup (calf), and Ryan Fitzpatrick (hip), there weren't too many notable injuries last week (that we know of). Most fantasy squad will have their full complement of players at their disposals, so it's important to evaluate usage and matchups.

Every NFL week starts with a Thursday Night Football game for most of the remainder of the 2021 season, and these are our favorite slates to play Daily Fantasy Football. The TNF showdown slate allows you a smaller crop of players to choose from, and if your cheap sleeper pick hits, you can cash big in your tournaments or easily win your head-to-head DFS matchups.

Every week, I'll get the Thursday Night DFS picks from our experts and we'll feature them below. But first, let's preview the matchup and what we might expect.

Who to start in fantasy football: Week 2 rankings, start-sit advice for PPR, standard, superflex scoring

Who to start in fantasy football: Week 2 rankings, start-sit advice for PPR, standard, superflex scoring It's Week 2, and your fantasy start 'em, sit 'em decisions are coming down to the wire. We've compiled all of our Week 2 rankings for PPR, standard, and superflex leagues in one place to help you decide who to start. If you're looking for more analysis, click the links located throughout the article, which include DFS advice and injury updates (directly below).

Last week was a low-scoring affair between the Panthers and Texans where Sam Darnold continued to lean on D.J. Moore as his clear-cut No. 1 option. Darnold also saved his own Fantasy day with two rushing touchdowns of his own. Of course, the big news out of last week's Thursday Night Football game was Christian McCaffrey leaving with an injury. Hopefully, we don't get any big injuries this week.

The Bengals host the Jaguars in what should be a very favorable matchup for Joe Burrow and the passing game despite the fact that Tee Higgins (shoulder) will miss his second straight game. The Jaguars pass defense is bordering on a funnel (they've actually been above-average against the run) and it's only going to get worse for them now that they've traded former first-round corner C.J. Henderson. That trade is a hit to Jacksonville's depth in the secondary and they were already shallow there. I would expect Burrow to lean on the passing game and Tyler Boyd to build on his big Week 3 performance. Christian Kirk topped 100 yards out of the slot last week against Jackonsville and that position might be their weakest on the roster. Ja'Marr Chase is also a threat to create several big plays in this matchup.

NFL DFS Picks Week 2: Best sleepers, value players for DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy football lineups

NFL DFS Picks Week 2: Best sleepers, value players for DraftKings, FanDuel daily fantasy football lineups Daily fantasy football expert Sloan Piva breaks down the top sleepers and value picks for your Week 2 FanDuel and DraftKings lineups. Get strategy advice and tips to help you cash in your NFL DFS contests. If you’re a fan of DFS or you just like to find an edge or angle with all your football-related bets, this column will be up your alley all season. Each week, I scour the player pools on the two biggest DFS sites and compile a list of values to help you win some cold, hard cash. The more value players you add, the more money you will have to spend on proven weekly studs at other position spots.

On the flip side, look for Trevor Lawrence to run more often. He was quoted after last week's loss as saying they will look to utilize his (underrated) rushing ability more often moving forward. The Jaguars established more of a run game (leaning on James Robinson) in Week 3 than they have all season long and he should continue to see a snap share and volume similar to last week. This should be a high scoring affair based on recent TNF outcomes and Lawrence's attempts should be high. That's good news for Marvin Jones.

Week 3 Fantasy Sleepers: Rondale Moore, Quintez Cephus among players on the start 'em, sit 'em bubble

Week 3 Fantasy Sleepers: Rondale Moore, Quintez Cephus among players on the start 'em, sit 'em bubble Our Week 3 fantasy sleepers are headlined by Rondale Moore and Quintez Cephus, two WRs having early-season breakouts. Still, they remain on the start-or-sit bubble with a host of other potential contributors. So far this year, we've seen quarterbacks Daniel Jones, Derek Carr, and Teddy Bridgewater vastly outperform some of the studs at the position, while players like James White, Kenyan Drake, and Jared Cook have been thrust into bigger roles than we expected. Still, there's always a lag in reacting among the fantasy community, so you can create a real edge for yourself if you're up to date on all things sleepers. This isn't only a big picture process, but a week-to-week chore.
