Sport Fan spends $1M on tickets to final Duke-UNC game of Mike Krzyzewski's coaching career
Rays reinstate RHP Andrew Kittredge from 10-day IL
After four inconsistent years as a reliever, starter and opener with the Rays, Kittredge rejoined the team on a minor-league deal, looking to rebound after a 2020 season shortened by a UCL injury. The results have been startling , as Kittredge has one of the best members of the very strong Tampa bullpen and will likely be a big factor in the team’s postseason pitching plans. Kittredge has a 1.55 ERA/2.96 SIERA over 69 2/3 innings, mostly working out of the bullpen with a few opener appearances on his résumé. As per Statcast, no pitcher in baseball has a higher chase rate than Kittredge, which has translated into an above-average 27.
There is perhaps no event more culturally pervasive in the state ofthan the annual renewal of the Tobacco Road rivalry, when the North Carolina Tar Heels and square off in the most storied rivalry in college basketball. This year, the atmosphere around the game is being accentuated by its serving as the final home game in the career of legendary Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
That has lead to astronomically high ticket prices for the event and certain people are willing to pay any price -- no matter how steep -- to see it in person. Speaking to Packer and Durham on the ACC Network Tuesday, Krzyzewski revealed that four seats to this year's Duke-UNC game have sold for $1 million dollars, with a mystery bidder having purchased the quartet at a V Foundation auction earlier this year.
Krzyzewski, who is in his 47th season as a college basketball head coach and 42nd at Duke, is retiring at the end of the 2021-22 season., tickets for his last home game against UNC on March 5 are currently going for steep prices on StubHub, with tickets as low as $6,500 and as high as $50,500.
Packers' Aaron Jones ensures he will not lose special necklace during game again

Jones lost the chain after scoring one of the four touchdowns he racked up in that game, but it was later recovered thanks to the efforts of a very dedicated trainer. On Friday, Jones revealed that he got more help from Packers staff when it comes to the chain. He said team equipment man Red Batty sewed a special pocket into Jones’ jersey where he can safely keep the necklace while playing.
Four tickets for Coach K's final game vs. UNC went for $1 million ????— ACC Network (@accnetwork)
"I've been fortune to be on the V Foundation since (the late Jimmy Valvano) and I were brothers. And so I host, with my family, the wine festival in Napa," Krzyzewski said. "We've done it 14 years, and this past year we raised $12 million. It's a big event. And the first auction item was four tickets to that game, and it went for $1 million dollars."
Krzyzewski's interview elicited some of his sense of humor, as he responded to a question about where Packer and Durham's tickets were with "Where's your million?"
Krzyzewski's swan song as Duke head coach marks the end of an era both for the Blue Devils and for basketball in the state of North Carolina as a whole. As Duke head coach, Krzyzewski has won five National Championships, 15 ACC Tournaments and 12 ACC regular season titles to go with countless other accolades.
Tyler Rogers' twin brother had funny interaction with Giants fans .
Tyler Rogers' twin brother, Taylor, was in attendance, which was apparently the source of a whole lot of funny and confused interactions. Tyler Rogers’ twin brother, Twins reliever Taylor, turned heads in the stands last night here, Tyler says. People kept asking him why he was sitting there. — Susan Slusser (@susanslusser) October 9, 2021 That’s actually pretty awesome. It would’ve been even funnier if Taylor had kept up the ruse, but that probably would have raised too many weird questions. It could be worse for the Rogers brothers: At least there’s no danger of them running into each other in the postseason.
