Sport Pat McAfee Rips Land Clark and NFL's Obsession With Taunting
Roger Goodell needs to do the right thing and end these dumb taunting penalties

We've been waiting all season for a horrible taunting call to affect the outcome of a NFL game and last night we sadly got just that as the Bears were victims of an embarrassingly bad call by a ref who has a lot of explaining to do. But you know who else should have some explaining to do? Roger Goodell.
Taunting penalties are getting ridiculous in thethis season as a point of emphasis for officials. On Sunday there were several flags for the offense, including Kansas City's Clyde Edwards-Helaire getting . On Monday, went off on the league's obsession with taunting, and one referee's crew, whose calls have been particularly egregious.
Land Clark's officiating crew has now called seven taunting penalties this season. No other crew has more than three and three crews haven't called any. That's a massive discrepancy .

Since the NFL has doubled down on taunting this season, it's good to note that one crew (Land Clark's) has called seven taunting penalties this season, no other crew has called more than three, and three crews have called none.

This is an A-plus rant from McAfee and he's absolutely correct. Officials in general stink this season and the taunting penalty stuff is absurd. The league is missing the boat by legislating emotion. That's the kind of stuff fans actually want to see.
