The NFL playoff picture is a mess – here are reasons to believe in and doubt every team in the field

The NFL playoff picture is a mess – here are reasons to believe in and doubt every team in the field A recent run of upsets has cast doubt on which teams in the NFL are true contenders. Here's the case for – and against – the current playoff field. The Tennessee Titans hold the edge in the AFC with an 8-2 record. The Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens trail at 6-3, leading a crowded field that includes the Kansas City Chiefs (6-4), Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3-1), New England Patriots (6-4) and the Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders and Cincinnati Bengals, who all own 5-4 records.

Ravens : Win AFC North back to back. Orioles: Weren’t the worst team in the MLB. He is only 14–13 against the NFC South, and against the AFC East he has a completion % of only 56% and a passer rating of only 88.9. Aaron Rodgers isn’t even the best Aaron to ever play in the NFL. I don’t think I even need to say this, but the GOAT Aaron is Aaron Donald and no one could argue against that in good faith.

- The Baltimore Ravens can’t win the AFC North for a third straight season, but they have staked their claim to another title: Best team in the division right now. While the first-place Pittsburgh Steelers have lost three straight games, the Ravens have reeled off three consecutive victories, with Lamar The Ravens are mathematically eliminated from capturing the AFC North . Even if Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Cleveland all finish with 11 wins , the Ravens are knocked out by tiebreakers. But Baltimore is riding the most momentum in the division, thanks to Jackson looking like one of the top players in the league

The Baltimore Ravens have had their issues this season but they still sit with the No. 1 seed in the AFC so the AFC North should be a given.

The Baltimore Ravens were the favorites to win the AFC North coming into the 2021 season.

They're sitting atop the AFC standings after their Sunday night victory over the Browns but it's been a tougher road to control the division than expected.

The Bengals still have a road to the top. The Browns will have the chance for revenge in a couple of weeks. Despite that, Baltimore has zero excuses to let it slip away.

The Ravens should win the AFC North, no excuses

On Sunday, the Ravens needed three Justin Tucker field goals to see off Cleveland in an ugly outing. At the same time, they managed a six-point victory over a division rival despite Lamar Jackson throwing four interceptions.

NFL standings: Updated AFC, NFC playoff picture for Week 11 of 2021 season

NFL standings: Updated AFC, NFC playoff picture for Week 11 of 2021 season As the NFL's playoff picture begins to come into focus, here are the updated AFC and NFC standings with Week 11 under way.The league kept its expanded playoff field, with 14 of its 32 teams (43.8 percent) set to qualify for the latest postseason. That includes 7 each from the AFC and NFC, with only the No. 1 seeds getting byes on top of home-field advantage.

If we're being honest, the AFC North is probably the worst division in the league this year. I could easily see whoever wins this division being an 8 - 8 team. Instead of that being the end of it with Jackson shook from getting hit and the pressure on the game suddenly comes to a halt, the Ravens get a second wind, better field position, and they seal it with ease from their new position sending it into overtime. The fact that Thomas got to keep playing after the hit on Rudolph I feel is a huge wash on any bitching Ravens have about the calls in that game.

You can't say it's the same game-planning because we're running the exact same plays. For whatever reason, we're just not getting it done. I just have no clue. It's like night and day.

When you can survive that kind of turnover output, you clearly have an advantage over the opposition.

Simply put, Baltimore is miles better than the Steelers and Browns this year. They have struggled and arguably dealt with more injury trouble than anyone else but they have no reason to allow either of those teams to spoil their season.

Cincinnati has been better than expected and managed to embarrass the Ravens a few weeks ago. Even they have no business challenging this Baltimore team if they're at full strength.

Ravens vs. Browns how to watch: TV, streaming, odds, pick as AFC North rivals clash in weighty rematch .
Breaking down the Ravens-Browns Week 14 matchupThe Browns are coming off the bye week and will play their second consecutive game against the Ravens. Cleveland fell to Baltimore 16-10 two weeks ago to drop back to .500 and two games out of the AFC North lead. The Browns are still just one game out of the final playoff spot in the conference, though they are 11th in the conference standings. Cleveland needs a win in the rematch to keep its AFC North title hopes alive, and potentially its playoff chances.
