Clemson vs. Wake Forest odds, spread, line: 2021 college football picks, Week 12 predictions from proven model SportsLine's model just revealed its college football picks and best bets for Wake Forest vs. ClemsonClemson (7-3, 5-2 ACC) hasn't lost since dropping its third game of the season to No. 20 Pittsburgh on Oct. 23, and it will face the ACC's top team this weekend. The Tigers will host No. 10 Wake Forest (9-1, 6-0) at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The Demon Deacons sit atop the ACC standings and have only lost one game in 2021. They will clinch the ACC Atlantic division title with a win. Clemson's stagnant passing attack pales in comparison to Wake Forest's ahead of this matchup, but oddsmakers expect a one-score game.

Thomas Brent Venables (born December 18, 1970) is an American college football coach. He is the defensive coordinator for Clemson . From 1999 to 2011, Venables coached at the University of Oklahoma , where he served as associate head coach

The University of Oklahoma endorses this message as well. 77. Forget about Brent Venables . If you're looking for a new HC , look no further: we have a barely-used John Donovan that would be a great addition The most "newsy" player for Grand Valley State would probably be WR Hunter Rison.

The abrupt departure of Lincoln Riley has left Oklahoma searching for a new head coach. For several Oklahoma alumni, the choice is an obvious one.

In the hours after Riley left for USC, there was a groundswell of support from ex-players for the Sooners to make a run at Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables. Venables has long been a highly-respected assistant coach, and served as Oklahoma’s defensive coordinator from 1999 to 2011.

Among those publicly calling for Venables were former Oklahoma defensive standouts Dusty Dvoracek, Aaron Colvin, and Tony Jefferson II, all of whom played under the current Clemson assistant.

Venables never really developed some elite recruits at OU. He had all the tools in the world and couldn't get a consistently good defense on the field for a while before his firing. He wasn't holding every team they played to >17 or some crazy stat, he would get carved up pretty repeatedly. In the first game of the season, Jared Bernhardt had 218 yards and 3 TD's passing to go with 120 yards and 4 TD's rushing in his first competitive football game since high school, after playing years of lacrosse at Maryland. The most "newsy" player for Grand Valley State would probably be WR Hunter Rison.

New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Counterpoint: Venables led the nation in TFL for four years straight, is 2-0 vs Foster We've had some good recruits scattered in, particularly in the last two years, but the idea that Venables ' defense has been all 4* players is incorrect. Maybe people would have but not this article, as it left out any guys where they think the HC is the de facto DC .

As of Monday, there were no indications that Venables and Oklahoma were in contact, despite rampant rumors on social media. However, given his history with the school and his stature in college football, he would make sense as a candidate.

Venables , Clemson ’s defensive coordinator, played at Big Eight Conference member Kansas State, and later was an assistant coach at both Kansas State and Oklahoma after the Big Eight transformed to the Big 12 in the mid-1990s. More:Unsettled situations for Clemson football headed into final The ultimate fate of Venables ’ former league remains uncertain, but the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12 appear to be continuing with their own plans. ESPN reported Friday that those three leagues will formally announce their alliance in the next seven to 10 days. Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich and

Over the last 4 years, Alabama and Clemson have towered over college football, splitting the national championships 2-2 and combining for a 106-4 record against everyone else. In that time the 2 programs have largely mirrored each other with one major exception. I think it's a mix of other things too. Alabama also has had better recruiting classes to make up for loss of coaches. Better talent helps keep them moving year to year whereas Clemson needs the stability to develop their less talented players . It also seems to be that Clemson relies on players staying an extra year more often than Alabama does.

The Sooners definitely appear likely to conduct a larger search, and one NFL coach has already been pressed into speaking about the position. It doesn’t sound like a new coach, be it Venables or someone else, will be announced quickly.
