RELATED: Jim Harbaugh is not a fan of eating chicken for the most Jim Harbaugh reason ever. On Thursday evening, however, the signal fires went up in earnest, when a current Michigan recruit told 247 Sports that Harbaugh had warned him that he planned to “ entertain ” NFL options this offseason. We are a very long way from seeing Harbaugh on an NFL sideline again. He signed a four-year extension at Michigan last January. He has made commitments. Yadda, yadda, yadda. We also know that commitments mean jack when it comes to head coaches saying one thing and doing

Few available coaches have that kind of NFL résumé, and Breer says Harbaugh could see the league as “unfinished business,” after leading Michigan to a top four finish and long-awaited win over Ohio State. “It’ll be interesting to watch this one over the next couple of weeks, since he’s had unfinished business in the league (getting so close to a championship and falling just short) There are growing indications that Harbaugh 's interest is real. On Thursday, 247Sports reported that the Michigan coach told a top recruit that he would “ entertain ” overtures from NFL teams. More NFL Coverage

As rumors swirl around the idea of whether Jim Harbaugh will take a leap into the NFL coaching ranks, the Wolverines football coach did not hide the possibility of that outcome with a recent Michigan commit.

Darrius Clemons, a four-star wide receive from Portland, Oregon, committed to the Wolverines on Dec. 10. However, the talented receiver—who chose Michigan over Auburn, Oregon, Penn State and USC—made his decision based on the school and not a coach.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh could be eyeing a return to the NFL after the Wolverines’ comeback season came to a heartbreaking end with a loss to Georgia in the Orange Bowl, according to a report . Michinga coach Jim Harbaugh on the sideline during the Wisconsin game in Ann Arbor, Michigan , Nov.

There are reports that Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh could be tempted to return to the NFL . Feldman noted that Harbaugh began his coaching career with the Raiders in 2003. Harbaugh played quarterback for the Bears for seven seasons after Chicago drafted him in the first round of the 1987 NFL Draft. He held a 35-30 record as the starting quarterback. His 11,567 yards passing is the third best total by a Bears quarterback behind Jay Cutler and Sid Luckman, ahead of Jim McMahon.

Larry Clemons, Darrius's father, told 247Sports that Harbaugh would be engaging with the idea of NFL coaching.

“He said that he'll entertain (it),” Clemons said. “He was up front with us about that. I had Coach Harbaugh speak to my pastor. They had a good conversation. Our pastor asked him about that, and that's just that's the (reply) that he gave him.

“I have no choice but to respect a coach if he's up front with us like that,” Mr. Clemons said. “So, I respect him for that ... By him saying stuff like that I was like, ‘we can't pick a school because of a coach.’ We learned that from the Oregon (coaching change).”

Harbaugh, who was on the hot seat and took a pay cut from Michigan a year ago, recently led the Wolverines to a Big Ten championship game and an appearance in the College Football Playoff semifinal game against Georgia. He went from the Big Ten's top salary spot to eighth in the league with his new contract in the 2021 season.

John Harbaugh, Zac Taylor downplay their postgame interaction

John Harbaugh, Zac Taylor downplay their postgame interaction Anyone who has interacted with Ravens coach John Harbaugh knows when Harbaugh is making a point in a pointed way. And that’s precisely what he did after Sunday’s loss to the Bengals. Harbaugh approached Bengals coach Zac Taylor with a mildly aggressive demeanor and asked him why he ran, with two minutes to pay, a [more]But Harbaugh is smart. He knows that, earlier this year, he defended the decision to run the ball when the circumstances called for taking a knee against the Broncos, in order to preserve Baltimore’s streak of 100-yard rushing games. If he’d publicly groused about Taylor’s tactics, Harbaugh would have come off as a hypocrite.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has said he’s staying put. That won’t keep at least one NFL team from trying to lure him back. Per a league source, the Jets are the team that is planning to make a run at Harbaugh after the season ends. Harbaugh is finishing his fourth season with Michigan . He left Stanford after four years, and he left the 49ers after four years. The Jets started digging on Harbaugh roughly four weeks ago, and the plan remains to attempt to interview him, which presumes that coach Todd Bowles will be fired after the season.

Jim Harbaugh ’s tenure in Michigan is over. He had nothing left but to fall into the abyss he was in prior to this season, his reputation tarnished and his existence mocked. When you climb out of such a hole, you never want to fall into it again. That’s why Harbaugh , the quirky trainer, must iron a new pair of khaki pants Harbaugh – who played for quarterbacks for 14 seasons in the NFL – had his greatest success in the coaching ranks of professional football . He led the San Francisco 49ers to three consecutive NFC Championship games, including a losing trip (for his brother John) to the Super Bowl.

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, Harbaugh's name is "firmly on the NFL radar.” Prior to Breer, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic heard from league and Michigan sources earlier this week that Harbaugh could be tempted to make a return to the NFL. Harbaugh was also closely linked as a potential coach for the Raiders.

Breer also reported that there is a possibility that Harbaugh could be looking to “leverage more money out of Michigan,” after taking the reduction in pay.

Harbaugh had a highly successful run with the 49ers from 2011 to ’14, going 44-19-1 with a Super Bowl appearance and three straight trips to the NFC championship. Both Breer and Feldman discussed Harbaugh’s relationship with Raiders owner Mark Davis as a potential factor in the decision. Harbaugh's first coaching job was as Raiders quarterbacks coach in '02–03, after which he became head coach at the University of San Diego. The Bears are also named as a potential landing spot.

American football coach (born 1981). Could Jim Harbaugh be interested in returning to the NFL ? And if so, would the New York Giants head coaching position interest him? Assuming, of course, the team parts ways with Joe Judge? A report earlier in the day indicated that the 58-year-old Harbaugh could be thinking about a return to the NFL , although teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears were mentioned as possible options since they are expected to have openings next week. Sources tell The Athletic they think Jim Harbaugh has real interest in going back to the NFL , and here’s why the

Harbaugh , who said recently he’d coach at Michigan for free because he loves it so much, said after the game that he sees this past season as a “beginning” for the program. However, that hasn’t stopped the speculation from running rampant, especially as a franchise like the Las Vegas Raiders is looking Along with the Raiders, the Chicago Bears could present an intriguing opportunity for him, presuming they do fire Matt Nagy. We’re certainly at the point where no one believes a college head coach when they say they’re staying somewhere, so there’s going to be more smoke about this until all the NFL

While Harbaugh remains as Michigan's coach, only time will tell whether he will take his talents back to the NFL level or continue to build on a Wolverines’ program that will be looking to reach new strides in the 2022 season.
