There was more bad injury news for the 49 ers defense in the fourth quarter of their wild-card matchup with the Cowboys . Linebacker Fred Warner went down with a non-contact injury and limped off the field. He ’s officially questionable to return with an ankle injury . He appeared to grab at his right leg and was in considerable pain on the field while being attended to by trainers.
The San Francisco 49 ers linebacker went down in the fourth quarter and was clutching his left leg in obvious pain. It was a non-contact injury on the Cowboys drive that followed the interception thrown by quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Dallas ended up scoring on the drive. Everyone is getting pretty excited for Sunday's playoff clash between the San Francisco 49 ers and Dallas Cowboys . Players on both teams are too young to know what this rivalry once meant to fans. 49ers star linebacker Fred Warner tweeted Monday that he will be “good to go” after suffering an ankle injury in San Francisco's 23–17 win over the Cowboys.
With just under nine minutes to play, Warner fell to the field in pain. While he managed to limp off the field, he never returned to the game.
Warner said Monday that he was, "Sorry for the scare yesterday everyone." Adding, "I appreciate everyone showing love and support for me and the fellas. We’ll be good to go. Huge win, onto the next.”

The 49 ers took a 23-7 lead into the fourth quarter. They let the Cowboys back in, but then slammed the door in the home team’s face. Dallas hasn’t played in the NFC Championship Game since 1995, their fifth Super Bowl title, and won’t again this postseason. The 49 ers advance to play the Packers next week, but they could be without several defensive players. Edge rusher Nick Bosa (concussion) and linebacker Fred Warner ( ankle ) left and did not return Sunday.

The 49 ers announced him as "questionable" to return due to an ankle injury . LB Fred Warner Warner suffered a non-contact injury in the fourth quarter. He made it to the sideline after grabbing his left leg in obvious pain. Warner was later seen walking on the sideline, testing his leg.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the right ankle injury is a re-aggravation of an injury Warner dealt with earlier in the season. He is undergoing tests on Monday to determine the full extent of the injury.
“I think it’s similar to what he did earlier in the year when he had one,” coach Kyle Shanahan said Sunday. “We’re not sure yet. He’s got a chance [to play].”
Warner, 25, was among the 49ers' top defensive players this season, totaling 79 tackles and seven tackles for loss. A 2020 All-Pro, he did not miss a game this season.
After defeating the Cowboys on Sunday, the 49ers will play the Packers next Saturday night in the divisional round.
Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET at Lambeau Field.
