Najee Harris' meaningless TD was a fantasy football championship winner, and loser, for some

Najee Harris' meaningless TD was a fantasy football championship winner, and loser, for some The Cleveland Browns were out of timeouts. The Pittsburgh Steelers had won. With only 51 seconds remaining, the Steelers up 19-14 and facing third down, all running back Najee Harris had to do was gain two yards to end the game. It was actually in the Steelers' interest for Harris to fall down as soon as he gained the first down, as they only had to kneel out the clock from there. Scoring gave the ball back back to the Browns with a chance to score, convert an onside kick and score again, though that obviously wasn't happening with how Baker Mayfield was playing. Harris' touchdown was completely meaningless ... for the Steelers.

We’ll go over a few of Thursday’ s top performances and busts before looking ahead to an ideal DFS play and trade target here. Antetokounmpo kept his hot streak going in the Bucks’ rout of the Warriors on Thursday. Milwaukee’ s superstar racked up a triple-double with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. He’ s averaged 32.5 points, 11 rebounds, and 7.8 assists

The reigning MVP dominated this weekend and wrapped things up on Sunday with a triple-double in a loss to the Jazz. Jokic averaged 21 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 13.5 assists per game over the weekend and powered Denver to an impressive blowout victory against the Lakers on Saturday. It's not surprising to see this year's top fantasy performer playing at such a high level, but he's entering Week 14 especially hot.

Fantasy Basketball: What can you expect from Kyrie Irving's return and how does it impact other Nets players?

Fantasy Basketball: What can you expect from Kyrie Irving's return and how does it impact other Nets players? Kyrie Irving is set to make his return as a part-time player for the Nets on Wednesday, Jan. 5 against the Pacers. That means congratulations are in order for Fantasy Basketball GMs who took a chance on Irving in their fantasy drafts this year, likely selecting the All-Star guard much later than he is typically available because of the uncertainty looming around his availability entering the season.

Who ’ s hot . The NBA‘s second-ranked scoring offense has gotten a big boost from Rozier lately. While he’s hardly inside the top 30 among fantasy point guards in the season-long standings, his consistent scoring has helped power the Charlotte Hornets to three straight wins. Top DFS Target. Ayton looked like someone who hadn’t played basketball in a week in his return from health and safety protocols against the Miami Heat over the weekend. The Phoenix Suns center played 32 minutes in his first game back but only logged 12 points and eight rebounds on 4-of-5 shooting.

Wood has struggled to match last year's production level at times but is coming off one of his stronger weeks of the season. The Rockets big man helped power his team to a pair of wins while averaging 21.5 points and 9.8 rebounds on 50.8 percent shooting. Wood's also made 10 threes over his previous four games while converting his attempts at a 43.5 percent clip. A Monday matchup against Utah could bring him crashing back down to Earth, though.

Karl-Anthony Towns

KAT ended Week 12 with a 40-point outburst and carried the momentum from that performance into Week 13. While Minnesota's star center didn't put together any spectacular stat lines ahead of Week 14, he was consistently productive and averaged 25.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists on 58.5 percent shooting across three games. There's a large gap between this year's second-most effective fantasy center and Jokic, but Towns has been no slouch when available.

DeMarcus Cousins' injury will dominate the DFS landscape Monday , and you could profit from it, Chris Towers says.

The NBA is back with a 14 -game slate after an uneventful trade deadline passes. The few players who did move on Thursday could create big value on Friday.

Who's not

Klay Thompson

Thompson's working his way back into things after two years off and still has a ways to go as a fantasy asset. While he's provided upside as a scorer, he's shooting under 40 percent from the field and three. The Warriors sharpshooter was a 20-point scorer in his previous five seasons, and he'll need to improve his efficiency significantly to get back to that mark.

DFS target to watch

Rudy Gobert

"The Stifle Tower" is back on the hardwood after a spell in health and safety protocols and had a typical performance against the Jazz on Sunday. Gobert tallied 18 points and 19 rebounds against a Nuggets team that's extremely sturdy on defense. The Lakers don't have a proper starting center with Anthony Davis hurt, so I expect Gobert to get plenty of lob and second-chance points while he dominates the boards on Monday. A double-double should be a foregone conclusion in this matchup.
