Based off the way he chucked his helmet to the ground, Brady was determined to catch that football. He was quite happy to do so, as you can see his celebration after securing the "redemption reception."

The play Brady showed was from the Super Bowl 52 meeting between Philadelphia and the New England Patriots. The quarterback lined up on the outside on a trick play, in which he was supposed to catch a pass from wide receiver Danny Amendola. Brady seemingly had it, but the football just bounced off of his finger tips.
