Just two days after the Cubs were eliminated from the postseason, the team has reportedly fired pitching coach Chris Bosio, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

The 54-year-old Bosio, who pitched 11 seasons in the majors, joined the Cubs coaching staff in 2012 and had been widely hailed for his work. His most notable success: transforming Jake Arrieta from a marginal MLB pitcher (5.46 ERA in 69 appearances with the Orioles) into a Cy Young Award winner.

"He's as good of an organizer as any pitching coach I've ever been around, and I've been around some very good ones," Cubs manager Joe Maddon told the Chicago Tribune in 2016.

Dolphins 'aware' of troubling video that appears to feature OL coach Chris Foerster The Dolphins are aware of a video that appears to show run game coordinator/offensive line coach Chris Foerster snorting a white powder substance. "We were just made aware of the video and will have no comment at this time," the team told Sporting News in a statement. The Dolphins were working to confirm the video, which appeared via social media Sunday night, including where and when it was recorded.A Sporting News source positively identified Foerster as the subject of the video, in which the subject says, "Hey, baby, miss you, thinking about you.

Cubs pitching coach Chris Bosio has reportedly been fired . Bosio ’s dismissal is one that very few people saw coming. Bosio joined the Cubs ’ staff in 2012 and has been a staple throughout their rebuild, which has led to three straight NLCS appearances and one World Series championship.

Chris Bosio , who has served as the Chicago Cubs pitching coach for the past six seasons, will not be brought back for the 2018 season, a source confirmed to ESPN.

"Boz deserves a lot of credit, and I know he's not a guy who wants all the credit, but he deserves his fair share, for sure," Arrieta said in 2016.

Cubs pitching excelled last year in the team's world championship run, with the team's 3.15 ERA the best in baseball. The staff's performance regressed this season, partly due to injuries. The team's 3.95 ERA ranked seventh in the majors.

But the wheels fell off in the 2017 postseason. The Cubs had a 4.52 ERA in the playoffs, and allowed 16 home runs and 53 walks in 10 games.

Nightengale mentioned Jim Hickey as a possible replacement for Bosio.

Lance McCullers had to dig around mound looking for diamonds from his necklace .
While umpires were waiting on a review of Aaron Judge missing second base during the fourth inning of the Astros-Yankees game on Tuesday, Lance McCullers was taking care of other business. Somehow, McCullers' black diamond necklace that he always wears during games broke, and some of the diamonds spilled onto the pitching mound. While McCullers was bent down scouring the mound for the diamonds, home plate umpire Chris Guccione came over to help. Astros third-base coach Gary Pettis even came out with a plastic cup and scooped dirt off the mound and sifted through it to pick out the diamonds.
