Authorities have said it's possible Sarah and Jennifer drove off the cliff on purpose, killing their entire family.

“I don’t believe Jen and Sarah to be evil people, and I don’t want to believe that they killed their family intentionally,” their former foster child — identified only as Lee — told the Times.

Lee, who acknowledged she was a bit difficult to handle when she was younger, landed in foster care several times in her teen years.

Her recurring behavioral issues left her single mother overwhelmed and Lee in the summer of 2004 wound up in the Minnesota home of Jen and Sarah. The couple, young themselves at the time, had been fresh out of Northern State University in South Dakota, their home state.

But when the football star opted to sign the teen’s ball, “it turned into a huge fiasco,” Lee recalled. Jen accused of her being “a brat” and then ignored her for days.

Despite growing tensions, Lee intended to remain with the Harts until she turned 18. The trio even had a meeting with officials about it.

Around the same time, the Harts were gearing up to adopt. The couple discussed the responsibilities of being a big sister with Lee, who said she had been excited to fill the role.

A week before the children were expected to arrive, the Harts dropped Lee off at a therapy appointment and never returned. Her therapist explained she would be living with a new family — all of her belongings had already been moved.

“I remember being devastated,” Lee said, adding that her experiences with the Harts do not reflect the news now.
