Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said on Thursday that it planned to spend billion to move production of heavy-duty pickup trucks from Mexico to a factory in Michigan, where it will add 2,500 new jobs as a result.

Fiat Chrysler has said it would roll out more truck and SUV models in the U.S., responding to a sharp consumer shift away from passenger cars in recent years.
