11 children as young as 5 treated at hospital after eating marijuana gummies

11 children as young as 5 treated at hospital after eating marijuana gummies At least 11 Anton Grdina Elementary School students in Cleveland, Ohio, were treated at a hospital and released after ingesting marijuana gummy bears on Monday.

An initial sweep of the campus is being finished and "there are no indications of a credible threat at this time," the superintendent said. A second sweep will begin shortly.

School is not dismissed and regularly scheduled classes will resume "when the campus is cleared," he said.

All unauthorized individuals are being asked to remain off campus until officials say it is safe.

Parents may pick up students at the  stadium, but they may experience a delay due to safety precautions being used, the superintendent said.

In 2016 the school was evacuated after an anonymous caller threatened to "shoot up" and blow up the school.

Fla. sixth-grader arrested over disruption, not Pledge of Allegiance refusal, police say.
TAMPA, Fla. - A sixth-grade student in Lakeland, Fla., was arrested earlier this month after he was accused of causing a disturbance in a classroom. The incident occurred at Lawton Chiles Middle Academy on Feb. 4 after the boy refused to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance, according to the Lakeland Police Department and Polk County Public Schools. His refusal wasn't the reason for the arrest, though, because students are not required to stand for the pledge under the Polk County Public Schools code of conduct for students, police spokesman Gary B. Gross said Monday.
