2 People Found Dead Inside Long Beach Apartment A double homicide investigation is underway Friday morning after two bodies were found inside a Long Beach apartment. Police were called to the building in the 1300 block of East Appleton Street just before 3 p.m. Thursday to conduct a welfare check, Long Beach Police Department Lt. Megan Zabel said. Arriving officers found two people dead inside one of the units. It appears the bodies may have been in the apartment for a while. Neighbor Bryan Padilla-Hunter said he noticed a smell coming from the apartment before the bodies were discovered. “The smell actually pretty much just took over the entire neighborhood,” Bryan Padilla-Hunter said.

RALEIGH — Wake County sheriff’s deputies have concluded that a man found dead at the bottom of a staircase in Apex died after having a stroke, getting tangled in his Christmas lights and landing on a pet kitten.

Deputies arrived at 3506 Lexham Court on Monday to discover Fran Oudshorn “supine” on the floor with blood on the walls, a staircase handrail and under his body, according to search warrants made public Friday. A family friend and property records say the man’s name is spelled Frans Oudshoorn, 56.

Investigators spoke to his son, who had called 911 to report the death. He told investigators that he came to the house on the prior night to find a dead cat in the bathroom, warrants said. He wrapped the cat and put it in the freezer.

A final report from the N.C. Medical Examiner’s office is pending.

2 found dead near Long Prairie, suspect sought.
The Todd County Sheriff is asking people to be on the lookout for a vehicle driven by a man suspected in the deaths of two people in rural Long Prairie. Sheriff Steve Och says deputies were dispatched Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. to a residence in rural Long Prairie after a 911 call from someone who had gone to check on a friend who had not returned texts or phone calls and found someone dead inside the home. Squads arrived and actually found two people dead inside the house. During the course of the investigation deputies identified a 22-year-old man they describe as a suspect in the two deaths.
