“I think there’s a pretty high degree of certainty that this is going to be a major hurricane, Category 4, potentially even Category 4-plus,” he said at a briefing in the state’s Emergency Operations Center.

DeSantis said he’s been in contact with President Donald Trump, who promised all the federal help Florida may need. He said the state has cleared shoulders of I-75 and I-95 to speed evacuation, which has not been ordered yet, and that highway tolls will be waived when the landfall of the slow-moving storm is known and residents are advised to leave.
