When a dog “detected a possible hit,” the Denali’s occupants were told not to leave the vehicle, police said in a statement.

“Occupants grabbed their personal belongings and exited the vehicle while stating that they were part of the halftime show and kept walking towards the United Center,” according to the police statement.

In the Denali, two loaded guns and boxes of live ammunition were found inside a backpack, police said. The driver of the vehicle also had two guns in his possession, police said, but he had a valid concealed carry license and a valid state firearm owner’s identification card.

No arrests were made because police were unable to prove to whom the guns inside the backpack belonged, according to law enforcement sources.
