Overland Park announced Tuesday it is canceling its Fourth of July Star Spangled Spectacular fireworks show because of COVID-19 concerns.
The event at Corporate Woods Founders’ Park is annually one of the largest displays in Kansas City. The cancellation joins an ever-growing list of displays that have been canceled because of the virus outbreak.
“We’re disappointed to announce that Saturday’s Star Spangled Spectacular is canceled,” a spokesperson with Overland Park said. “Given the recent increase in coronavirus cases, the show creates an additional public health risk and will not be held.”
