US Kostic hit the knee - ligaments probably not damaged
Mets' Jed Lowrie reportedly out for the season
The Lowrie signing surely counts as one of the worst in team history for the Mets, who inked the ex-Athletics standout to a two-year, $20M contract before last season. The switch-hitting Lowrie was coming off two healthy and productive seasons in Oakland at the time, but his knee troubles have since limited him to nine games and eight plate appearances — all of which came in 2019. Soon to turn 37 years old, Lowrie has undergone platelet-rich plasma and stem cell injections in his knee of late, per Healey. It’s unclear whether Lowrie will play again, then.
The second Bundesliga game for Frankfurt's Filip Kostic this season lasted only a few minutes. In the away game at Hertha BSC, the left foot had to leave the field injured after a quarter of an hour.
offensive whirlwind Kostic crashed into the opposing fives with the Berlin defender Jordan Torunarigha on Friday when he grabbed the ball out of the danger zone. The Serb injured his right knee and was initially treated outside of the field before the sign for a substitution followed.
Steven Zuber came for the 27-year-old, minutes later Kostic hobbled back into the stands, his right knee thickly bandaged.
First investigations in the Berlin stadium have shown that the tapes have probably not been damaged. This was announced by Frankfurt at the beginning of the second half.
In the system of SGE trainer Adi Hütter, Kostic is an absolute key player on the left lane as well as in standards.
Jordan Roberts might have just hit the farthest home run in softball history .
Roberts was teammates with Kelly Barnhill at Florida, but she sure treated the pitcher rudely with that homer. In four years with the Gators, Roberts had 27 home runs. None probably traveled that far.Subscribe to Yardbarker's Morning Bark, the most comprehensive newsletter in sports.
