At one of the most popular nesting sites for storks in Bavaria, many animals are already rumming again in this spring. The construction company Holzheu from Kirchheim (Unterallgäu district) had built a special steel frame for about ten stork porters a few years ago. According to the Landesbund for Bird Protection (LBV), this year already significantly more than a dozen of birds have been spotted on the "Storchenturm" in the Allgäu. The plant is used by two storks for several years to overwinter.

In the company from the Allgäu, a stork had been built for the first time in 2005 on a vocalized construction crane. In the following years then further white storks are growing the example and built nests on the former building device. According to the company, there were a total of 12 nests with 16 youngests in the record year 2016. But then the 30-year-old crane had to be reduced for safety reasons.

In order to offer the animals a home to the animals, a new stork mast was built nearby. "He consists of parts of the old crane, is 21 meters high and has a solid concrete foundation," the construction company reported. Special booms were attached to the frame for the nests. According to LBV NDesten in 2020 more than 750 white stork pairs in the Free State. Last winter, about 300 animals had waived the flight to the south and remained right in Bavaria.
