Police: 5 injured, including sheriff's deputy, after cruiser-involved crash in Queensgate Five people were taken to the hospital, including a Hamilton County sheriff's deputy, after a crash involving a cruiser in Queensgate Tuesday, officials said. The two-car crash took place around 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Fifth and Linn streets. Cincinnati fire officials said the deputy's car overturned during the crash and caused an entrapment. Officials said three work release crew members and a sheriff's deputy were injured. Police said they all had to be cut out of the cruiser. The driver of the other car was also injured. No injuries appear to be life-threatening, officials said.

About 20 people were injured after strong thunderstorms and hail swept through the city of Wenzhou of Zhejiang Province in eastern China Wednesday, local authorities said. Students of Wenzhou Vocational & Technical College and recruiters were hit and injured by hail, with five hurt badly.

BERLIN — Authorities say that about 20 people have been injured in eastern Germany by gusty winds and thunderstorms.

German news agency dpa reported Thursday eight people were injured Wednesday night at an outdoor wedding party when a tree branch crashed onto them in Blankensee in the northeastern state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania.

In Berlin, 11 people were injured when a tree fell on a group celebrating outside and an unknown number of passengers in a convertible were also injured by a falling tree.

Public transportation was stopped in Berlin for two hours during the evening rush hour because of the storm and several commuter trains were still delayed Thursday morning.

In Magdeburg, 156 kilometers (96 miles) southwest of Berlin, lightning damaged a building. Nobody was injured.
