The firefighters looked for traces of a possible drifting boat on the Marne between Chelles and Gournay. They looked in vain for the trace of a drifting boat and their occupants ... to no avail. This Sunday evening in Chelles, the firefighters carried out searches for several hours after being alerted around 7 p.m. by a resident of the banks of the Marne.

It was during the night of Saturday to Sunday, around 2:40 a.m., rue de l'Eglise in Varreddes (Seine-et-Marne), that a driver lost control of his car. The vehicle ended its race in the garage door of an individual living in this street in the center of the town.

Possibly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision, the motorist fled on foot. He left his injured friends, a woman and a man, in the passenger compartment of the damaged automobile.

Between 1996 and 2017, he played 1554 games in the NHL and scored 1300 points (625 goals, 675 assists). The Canadian spent most of his career at the Calgary Flames. Incidentally, with the "maple leaves" he won gold twice at the Olympic Games.

Alerted by local residents, the firefighters dispatched two ambulances to the scene, which transported the two people, slightly injured, to the emergencies of the Grand Hospital of the east of Ile-de-France in Meaux. The woman, injured in the arm, will have an operation this week, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The day after the accident, the driver, knowing he was wanted by the gendarmes, turned himself over to the Lizy-sur-Ourcq brigade. He would have spontaneously explained that he was driving drunk. He will be prosecuted by the courts for hit and run.

However, he will not be tried for driving under the influence of an alcoholic state since drunkenness could not be noted and measured by a gendarme. However, for there to be prosecutions, the blood alcohol level must be quantified because it determines the prosecutions.
