The Israeli Air Force has targeted Syrian observation posts after they were said to have been targeted in the Golan Heights. The Syrian Army's air defense system went into action Monday evening against raids in the south of the country claimed by Israel , the official Syrian news agency Sana reported.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The Israeli army announced on Friday that it shot down a Drone entered the country's airspace near Mount Hermon in the Golan Heights, a strategic region on the border with Syria.
No details were made public, the army simply specifying that the incident was not related to the triggering of the alarm sirens a few hours later, due to a false alarm to the infiltration of a drone.
The last few weeks have been marked by a further rise in tension between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah.
Israel has controlled most of the Golan Heights since the Six Day War of 1967.
