Osama bin Laden , a militant and founder of al Qaeda in 1988, believed Muslims should kill civilians and military personnel from the United States and allied countries until they withdrew support for Israel

To Omar, Osama bin Laden is neither a freedom-fighting jihadist nor a terrifying mass murderer — he is a lost man, a flawed and fanatical father who withheld his love, beat and betrayed his own children, and destroyed his family chasing his fantasy of becoming a latter-day prophet. Now 28, Omar is one of 11 sons of Osama bin Laden . But from an early age, Omar stood out from his brothers for his independence. Though Omar does not believe that any of his siblings are still by his father’ s side, he is the only bin Laden son to publicly disavow his father’ s violence.

The death of Osama bin Laden on May 2, 2011 gave rise to various conspiracy theories, hoaxes, and rumors. These include the ideas that bin Laden had been dead for years, or is still alive.

Fascinated by the United States

Osama bin Laden’s son says he used to beat his children regularly. The latter saw him for the last time a few months before September 11, 2001. The neo-Norman indicates that he has a passion for America, which he has never known.

Omar Bin Laden also recounts his current life, indicating that he settled in Normandy with his wife Zaina Mohamed Al-Sabah and their horses. He began painting during confinement, encouraged by his wife. Since then, he has painted a dozen canvases. One of them shows the mountains of Tora Bora, Afghanistan, where his father hid after the September 11 attacks. At that time, Omar Bin Laden was 20 years old and lived in Saudi Arabia with his mother.

Afghanistan 20 years on .
Shades of Vietnam. Biden will be the fourth American president to grapple with the Afghan dilemma. The case for getting out is clear: Americans went into Afghanistan in 2001 after Osama Bin Laden used it as a launching pad for the 9-11 attack. Since then, 2,400 Americans have died; over 20,000 have been wounded, at a cost to the treasury in the trillions. For the first several years, there was progress: then as the Bush administration shifted its focus to Iraq, progress stopped. The Taliban now again controls most of the country outside of a few cities.
