Mexico is preparing to send divers to try to save ten minors trapped, for a week, in a flooded mine. The mine located in the state of Coahuila collapsed with fifteen minors inside. Five people managed to get out of it, no contact could be made with the other ten.

The mine is around 60 m deep and partially filled with muddy water and solid elements which have so far prevented the rescuers from entering it.

A soldier went down, Wednesday, August 10, for a few moments in the flooded mine in northern Mexico, where Ten minors have disappeared for a week, the local governor announced. The governor of the state of Coahuila, Miguel Riquelme, subsequently tweeted that one of the military divers had descended into the number 4 of the coal mine, but that he had come up against "obstacles to be able to enter the galleries ”. "The pumping work will continue so that they can enter again and continue research and help," he added.

A water table pierced

Several hundred people participate in the aid to save minors, whose relatives are increasingly worried as time passes. According to the authorities, minors carried out excavation work when they pierced a water table.

Coahuila, the main coal producer region of Mexico, has experienced a series of fatal mining accidents over the years. The worst occurred in the Pasta de Conchos mine in 2006 when a stroke of gray killed 65 minors.

Tigers sign relievers Daniel Norris, Jacob Barnes to minors deals .
Norris and Barnes have each previously been members of the organization. The former spent six seasons in Detroit. Acquired from the Blue Jays as the centerpiece of the David Price deadline deal in 2015, Norris spent his first few years in the rotation. His tenure was up-and-down, and the Tigers kicked him to the bullpen starting with the shortened 2020 campaign. The left-hander posted a 3.25 ERA through 27 2/3 frames as a multi-inning type that year.
